Dear Mom,
Thanks for loving me down through the years,
For wiping my nose and drying my tears.
When you corrected me, you did it out of love-
You always pointed me towards God up above.
When you caught me, smoking you didn`t explode,
You didn`twrite me off or say hit the road.
Instead, you cried~I can still see those tears.
It worked much better than if you`d boxed my ears.
I remember you told me how much you prayed.
I felt so bad, thinking how I had strayed.
I knew you would love me whether I smoked or not,
However, I still don`t smoke~I`m glad I was caught.
So many lessons I learned at your knee.
Just being near you made a much better me.
I owe you more than I can ever repay.
As I think of the past on this Mother`s Day.
You were always "Mom"; "Mother" didn`t seem to fit.
To me, "Mom", had more meaning in it.
I knew that you loved me and you would be there.
Well, Mom, we are apart and you are with Jesus there,
And I know you are happy and don`t have a care.
I miss you and love you as on Earth I roam,
And I know you will be waiting when I get to "Go Home ".
