Why do you do what you do?
Outward appearances might lead us to believe that we do what we do for many reasons.  I think that there are only a few reasons that we do what we do. When it is all said and done, the things that motivate us most are:
(1) Love
- Love of/for God, self, others, and material items

(2) Comfort
- Physical, mental, emotional, social, etc. 

(3) Knowledge
- Meaning of life and death, what makes the world go around, what came first - the chicken or the egg, etc

Starting Over is a Wonderful thing because we get another chance to get it right.  Starting over may actually be better because starting over gives us the opportunity to do it with the benefit of knowledge gained from past mistakes. Don't stay angry with yourself if you make a mistake. Dust yourself off and try again.

When I look around at what is going on in the world, I am truly grateful to God. I have two interesting thoughts about love to share with you. I am not the author of either but thought they were worth sharing.

 

1. The irony of love is that those who are not desperate for it find it readily. Those who are overly anxious for it can end up alone. Your behaviors should first reflect who you are, instead of what you want to accomplish. When you express that honesty, you'll attract a person who appreciates it.

Direction

I feel like I'm in the middle of the ocean. I think I know which way I want to go but the tide seems to be carrying me in a different direction. Should I just go with the flow and let the current take me where it will? Should I fight my way towards the place where I want to go? What if I don't really want to go where I think I want to go?
