Unity is Progress
Greetings, The reason I joined Black Planet was to
make contacts like you. I am interested in receiving feedback and
suggestions on how to display and market this flag I have designed,
which is a tribute to the achievements and accomplishments African
Americans have made in America. The Flag is one of the most
unifying symbols through out history and in light of the surfacing
racial issues plaguing America today, I believe this is the optimum
time to reintroduce this attribute. Youth have been the lighting
force behind social change throughout time.
The Flag's symbolism can be used to honor someone
in your community or organization for present and past
contributions made into the community. As a fund raiser the
reproductions of the Flag can be sold to financially support those
entities serving the community.
I chose not to narrate or to add music, so that
as you read you are not distracted from your own impressions.
Redemption Song, by Bob Marley, would have been the song I would
have chosen.

My Name is Freedom, by Oyoko
Loving.
This is a story of a little girl on St.Croix, whose
name is Freedom. Freedom has two sisters Unity and Justice. When I
was first asked to illustrate this story, I felt challenged. How
was I going to instill the virtues of Freedom, Unity and Justice in
three little girls? I used their hair.

This is the video I made addressing the littering and
illegal dumping problem here in the islands.
Global warming is a major issue that we have very little control
over accept for our personal energy consumption. But, the illegal
dumping and littering, we as a civilization can have a major impact
on the Global environment.
It has been suggested to make the video into a public broadcasting
announcement. I submitted it to EPA, but I never received a
response. I have had it sitting for too long, maybe by showing it
on you tube the video may get the support to bring it to the
Media.
I hope it is as point full to you and others Everywhere.
