Attend a Convention Watch Party

Posted August 28th, 2008 at 03:30pm

Today, as Barack Obama takes to the stage in Denver to deliver a historic address to the over 75,000 people gathered at Invesco Field and accept the Democratic nomination for President of the United States, communities across Illinois will be gathering together at local watch parties to show their support for the Obama-Biden ticket. The hundreds of gatherings present an opportunity to celebrate with family, friends and neighbors and to learn more about Barack Obama's plans to bring change to our state and our nation.

Today also marks the 45th anniversary of Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.'s, extraordinary "I Have a Dream" speech. Just as Dr. King looked forward and dreamed of a brighter future, communities across Illinois will be coming together to share their hope for change and a better tomorrow.

Tonight will be a truly historic moment in our history. Sharing the experience with your community and attending a watch party in your neighborhood will make the moment even more extraordinary. There are hundreds of watch parties across the state -- find one in your area.

Mr. Obama, my father always taught me that if you dont have anything positive to say, silence is the answer. He also told me that just because someoone else unties their fool, does not mean that you have to untie yours. I really admire your way of shying away from all of the negitivity. The next time someone speaks out about your "lack of experience" please please simply state that because of all of this so called "experience, it is time for a change!!!!!!

Hi President Obama:

The next time Hillary or John comment that you are not ready or experienced enough, here is a quote from Bill Clinton that you might use:

"His wife Agatha died in early 2002 and General Davis, who was 89 and suffering from Alzheimer's disease, followed shortly after, passing away on July 4, 2002 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.. General Davis was buried July 17, 2002 at Arlington National Cemetery. A P51 Red Tail, similar to the one flown in World War II, flew overhead during funeral services. Bill Clinton said, "General Davis is here today as living proof that a person can overcome adversity and discrimination, achieve great things, turn skeptics into believers; and through example and perseverance, one person can bring truly extraordinary change".[2]"

Bill said that about General BO Davis, Jr July 17, 2002 when they buried him at Arlington national Cemetary.
