What`s up!!! Yeah you!! Welcome to my page and let me introduce
myself....nah!! Just kidding people! So here it goes.
 First of all, my name is Zach and I am an alumni of Central State Univesity (Ohio) with a BS in Manufacturing Engineering, and a former member of the Invincible Marching Marauder band which I played percussion. About me, as a person?? There`s alot, but I`ll be brief. I am a nice guy to get along with. People who knows me say that I`m a laid back, down-to-earth type. I have a sense of humor, whitty, and intelligent. Sometimes people say that I`m often the quiet type....perhaps I often see things in my surroundings much differenty and choose not to express them unless otherwise. Don`t get me wrong, but that`s the way I am. If you have an issue with it, tough. In case you didn`t know, I love music in many shapes and forms. What do you know about jazz? From various regions in the country. New Orleans with "Satchmo" Louis Armstrong to the Marsalis family. Dizzy, Bird in the be-bop era. Billie Holiday, Betty Carter, Ella Fitzgerald to Nancy Wilson. Kansas City, West Coast (in LA), and NYC. How about the Rock and Roll, Motown eras. The soulful ballads from the 70`s, the new Wave in the 80`s straight into the Neo-Soul with Jill Scott, D`Angelo, Bilal, India.Arie, Alicia Keys and so on. I didn`t mean to leave out the hip-hop. Right now, it`s so one-dimentional now it`s like you`re playing a broken record. There`s only a few I can listen to now, but that`s another story. Hell, here`s my take on hip-hop today. There are plenty MC`s...not "rappers"(i.e. Master P., CashMoney (aside from Lil Wayne, B.G. & Juvy) or "rap singers"(i.e. Ja Rule, Nelly) but MC`s that have carried the torch. I can tell who the old heads are on here because they recognize names like KRS-One, Rakim, Kane, Chuck D (man has mad vocabulary as does KRS), MC Ricky D, Biz Markie, L.L., Ice Cube, Scarface...the list goes on. Fact of the matter is that Pac, BIG, Jay and Nas and some mo` new cats were all inspired one way or another by the cats I just listed. So there is no way these newer names can hold down that Greatest title alone. Cats sleep on folks like Black Thought, Talib K., Mos Def, Luda and other cats that are out now who are about HIP HOP and not about "making whats` hot" I compare some of these "pop star" rappers to DCI.They all about getting the highest score by any means necessary. Then you got the "HBCU BAND" MC`s that do it for the love of the game. Also there`s no creativity now than it was in the late 80`s to somewhere in the 90`s. But hey, that my opinion. And don`t over here saying that Nelly and JaRule are good. I would laugh right at you!! Well, that`s pretty sums it up here. Before I go, I`d like to say peace to HBCU bands folks out there, past and present. Also peace to the folks I`ve come across to make many frienships with.   Update 8/16/03 And finally here`s a brief obituary to a fallen comrade... Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of Common Sense who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valued lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn`t always fair.  Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don`t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding anunruly student only worsened his condition! It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student but could not inform the parents when a student became Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled it in her lap, and was awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion, his daughter, Responsibility, and his son,Reason. He is survived by Two stepbrothers, My Rights and Ima Whiner. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still know him, pass this on. If not, you can give him a second death. 2/8/04 Here`s another inspirational motivation for your mental. Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they`ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It`s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It`s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.
