Due to a lack of creativity in commercial music Impromptu was born in December 2004 with a poetic bang. Jonathan Ware and Glenford Brown hosted an Open mic entitled "New Growth" to pump life into the surrounding area and promote positivity. Instead of picking fights they picked up pens to write the wrongs out of this world. Impromptu's mission is to spread art any time anywhere. Caribbean Palace became Impromptu's stomping ground, it gave them a place to hone their talent and skills. Over the years they have gone on to perform in George Street Playhouse, NJPAC, New Jersey's State Theatre at Our Open Mic, the People's Open Mic, Baton Rouge, Deltas, Montclair State University, Bloomfield College, Rutgers Newark, Rutgers New Brunswick, Philadelphia health fair, Nyack College, Rider University, First Baptist, New Creation, and various Churches in New Jersey. IMPROMPTU has now become a band of poets, musicians, and artist that have a zeal for change in the local and global community. Through their art they believe they can make a difference in society and give hope through their words, give a chuckle through their smiles, and give life through the power of Jesus Christ which strengthens them in their journey.
