My name is I'm Angela Edgar and I'm a poet/writer/editor with a little bit of entrepreneur thrown in and I live in West London, United Kingdom!
Writing has always been my first love, but I didn't think to develop my potential... until now. I'm a firm believer that things happen when they are supposed to and that I was meant to go through certain life experiences to place me in the position where I am now.
I hadn't written for a very long time until mid 2006 when a chance conversation and a suggested title found me writing and enjoying writing all over again. I have since written over 500 new poems.
I write about all sorts, from suggested titles I've been given or poems made up from things I hear people say, to random thoughts that cross my mind and committing to paper the strange dreams I've had.
I write on matters of the heart and situations that I've been through, life, death, comedy, friends, music, sensual erotica - where I give you just enough to let your imagination make up the rest ;-)
My dream was to publish a book of poetry and this was a goal I set myself on one of my birthdays in the presence of my best and closest friends, besides, I didn't want them asking me the following year "So where's your book then?" .
My first book 'INSPIRED' is available to buy now. "INSPIRED" is my first collection of poetry. In it I hope to inspire people and make them feel good, perhaps make them feel motivated or positive about something they feel passionate about. My poems are easy to read and suitable for everyone from any background. I take what I see and feel and show you through my eyes in my words, and when you finish INSPIRED, I just hope that you enjoyed the read and would want to share your experience of it with someone else. I also read my poems by participating regularly in online open mic sessions, entering slams and as features in showcases.
I am very proud to share with you the fact I am working on my second and third collections "CINNAMON & SIN" and "INSPIRED Vol.2" For a sneak peek from book 2 visit (for Mature readers only due to its adult content): "CINNAMON & SIN" my second collection, covers the lighter as well as the harder things in life. I tackle everything from love, romance and erotica to street, gun and gang violence. I tell you as I see it, I write it to make you feel it. This collection is suitable for mature readers only.
I read my poems weekly on www.ukrootsfm.com 8-10pm GMT (3-5pm EST) Tune in, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
I'm also the UK Editor of Student Focus Carribean Magazine. The summer edition can be found on www.TeenCaribbean.com. If you want to become a TC writing contributor in the next Student Focus Autumn issue, send me an example of your writing, a few words about you and a photo to:

Here's the title poem to tempt you...
INSPIRED
It took a lot To get me here I was so frightened I lived in fear. A little muse He came to me With a few choice words I was set free. Free to be here Free to pursue Free to be vibrant And be myself with you. As I struggled to find My inner being Real humble beauty emerged The truth of me I'm finally seeing. I feel the love I feel the heat Clap your hands Stomp your feet. We love our art We're not shy, not coy We come together To share the joy. I heard the words I felt the need Tonight we were blessed God's children destined for our own success. A prayer answered Not a word went unheard To all the other haters I'll flip just you the bird. Tonight I heard things that inspired I truly believe that I felt his touch Compelled to write this I thank God so much. For all that he gives to me I give it right back My praise forms in words They keep me focused and on track. So when you see me put pen to paper I hope you don't mind I'm following my destiny I'm not being rude or unkind. Positive thinking to aiming higher Being what God meant me to be I'm ignoring the negative Preferring to nurture the positive, in my creativity. I'm being inspired I'm catching a ride I'm just feeling the flow I'm flowing with the vibe. I'm listening, I'm learning God's seeing my soul But it's only together That I reach my goal. No more back biting No more stinging remarks We've got to support each other It's together that we'll create sparks. Thoughts turn to action Like flint and wood Creating a literary fire I'm doing what I only dreamt I could. Just when I feel like I'm losing the rhyme I look around, reminisce, remember I slow it down I take my time. Quick, give me a sheet A quill and some ink Old school I know but what I come up with Might make you think. I stop, I think I write it down again My goodness why didn't I think of that When it was so plain. I take what I feel and see I show you through my eyes It might take one But more like two or three tries. I won't be in the crowd Looking sad, feeling terse I'll be the one up on the stage you see Giving you a taste of my verse. Though I can't sing in tune Or freestyle a rhyme I hope my words however delivered Touch you every time. Leaving you feeling hopeful Bringing a smile to your face Making you feel all warm and cosy Welcoming you into Angee's space Now you go out and spread the word Help someone else aspire I thank you for reading and hearing this Now that I've shared with you, I hope you'll be INSPIRED.
