Born in Homestead, FL on September 29th, his military family then moved to Alaska. From 5 years in Alaska, they then moved again to Maryland. (Prince Georges County/Waldorf Maryland). Here, Joshua became a standout football and baseball player being heavily recruited by major league baseball teams. After living in Maryland for 7 years, his family packed up to Biloxi, MS where he resides to this day. With hopes of becoming an upcoming football/ boxer, injuries set him back for a while opening his eyes towards MUSIC... In the fall of 2005, the 23 year old from Biloxi, Mississippi was left homeless after the devastation of hurricane Katrina. The temporary setback was heart wrenching, but it not stop him from pursuing his dream. Since then, J-5ive has caught the eye of many of the industry's top entertainers with his underground singles "Love you for the 1st time" and "I'm feelin' you." But J-5ive's talents don't stop there. He is regarded as the "TOTAL PACKAGE" because of his ability to incorporate hip-hop dance routines into his music performances. J-5ive's singing ability has been compared to Jamie Foxx, and his dancing ability to that of Ginuwine, Michael Jackson, and Omarion. He has the looks and the body to take the industry by storm. In addition, he has written and sang hooks for various R&B and hip-hop artists, earning him credit in "Street Report Magazine." Currently, J-5ive is a student at William Carey College where he is studying Graphic Design. His goals are to become one of the hottest R&B entertainers around.
