Juanita Bynum-Weeks
Before releasing her debut album, "Morning Glory, Vol. 1: Peace," in 1999, Juanita Bynum-Weeks had lived in various places around the country working at various jobs, none of which involved either music or religion. Although she grew up in a Pentecostal family in Chicago, it wasn't until 1990 when she moved to New York that she began preaching. Realizing that this was her calling, she started giving sermons and talks in churches around the nation, wrote books, founded Juanita Bynum Ministries, and released more albums, including 2000's "Morning Glory, Vol. 2: Be Still" and 2006's "Piece of My Passion," which was issued on her own label, Flow Records. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide.
Juanita Bynum is Celebrating 25 years of Ministry. Along with her husband Bishop Thomas Weeks, III, she pastors the Global Destiny Christian Community. Bynum has a fully staffed ministry team with national as well as international travels. She is one of the most sought after female preachers. She holds the TBN 10 out of 12 top Neilson rating as a host.
Her TV career includes her being an international host on Trinity Broadcasting Network, The Word, Genesis TV, a European daily broadcast, Inspiration network, Black Entertainment Television and Revelation TV which are all daily national broadcasts.
Juanita Bynum is the CEO of her own record label, Flow Records, where she is the top artist based in Dallas. Her CD, "Gospel Goes Classical," was #1 on the classical charts and the Billboard Charts for Gospel at the same time. She is the #2 top Gospel seller in Walmart. It is also an entertainment company, a media company, and she purchased a recording studio in 2006. She was certified gold status in 59 weeks. She sold 42,000 units of her platinum release "Piece of My Passion" and 4,700 units of her new Walmart 3 piece set released on March 27, 2007 with no national promotions.
Juanita Bynum is also a producer, actress, and author. She produced the national play "Night of Passion" in which she also played the leading role. She did the South West Airlines Tour "Sisters of Passion" and will have her movie debut in 2008 wit "Mamma I want to Sing." As an author she has the New York Times best seller, The Threshing Door. She sold over 600,000 copies of "Matters of the Heart" & 450,000 copies of My Spirit of Inheritance. Her latest book, Accessing the Power Within, was released April 21, 2007. She has sold over 1.5 million copies of her books nationally & now has a new publishing company with Time Warner (Faith Publishing).
Her achievements and international contributions include being an ambassador of Ghana and an honorary doctorate degree. Juanita Bynum has received the Billboard Gold Record Award and the key to over 27 cities. She was the New York Times best seller & the winner of the Narms International Award in 2006. She received the Stellar Award for minister of the year & has ministered to over 100,000 people.
She is also a radio personality with a live national syndicated broadcast "Rejoice Radio" every Sunday. She is energetic, life changing, thought provoking & inspirational. She has hosted conferences for the Threshing Floor in the Georgia Dome with over 60,000 attendees, the St. Louis Edward Dome with over 40,000 attendees, the Tampa Ice Palace/Tampa Crusade with over 30,000 attendees, the Pensacola Arena/ Pensacola Praise Over with over 15,000 attendees.
She is the chief editor of Ethne', which focuses on beauty for various ethnicities. The magazine explores what real beauty is & not just revealing outside beauty but beautiful spirited people. She is the designer of her own pajama line "The Art of Sleeping" with original artwork by international designers which is the 1st of its kind and is exclusively for women. With all this going on she still manages to find time to be a humanitarian and a missionary. Bynum has been made an ambassador of Ghana where she has the Amachi Mentoring Program. She also plants lifeline trees & oversees a girl's orphanage in Ghana. She has purchased & dug wells in Kenya. On top of all that, Juanita Bynum supports widows, HIV victims & children with imprisoned parents. Juanita Bynum is truly a woman of God.
