Marion Kendrick, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, and now residing in the Los Angeles, CA; is quickly establishing himself as one of nation's talented, up-and-coming comedians. Like most comedians, he began his career clowning in class and has been making those around him laugh ever since. He uses his unique style and Southern dialect to captivate you into his funny fact and fiction tales. Not only will he make you laugh at him, but also with him on subjects you can definitely relate to.
As a child he loved to sneak and watch Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy, which later ignited his dream. He feels that his stardom is inevitability, considering him and Murphy share April 3rd as their birthday. Being that MS wasn't known for producing many big name comedians, he thought he would never be able to pursue a career in comedy. That all changed after witnessing another Jackson native and fellow Alcorn State University Alumnus, JJ, appear on Def Comedy Jam.
After graduating from college, he relocated to D.C. metro area where he took the stage for the first time in 2001. For two years; Marion performed a small number of times, but didn't take comedy as serious as he should have. After learning that his cousin, an aspiring rapper, was diagnosed with stomach cancer, he was inspired to work harder at comedy and to become one of the best comedians ever. Marion received mentoring and coaching from "The Fat Doctor" who made a positive impact on the start of Martin Lawrence's career. After years of honing his craft on the D.C. scene, he decided to relocate to Hollywood in 2008 to take his career to a higher level.
He is performing at clubs and showcases all over the country as create a buzz for the Marion Kendrick brand. Marion has been invited to showcase his talent at Comedy Central's Open Mic Fight, The Bay Area Black Comedy Competition Festival, and Jamie Foxx's LAFFAPALOOZA Comedy Festival as one of the New Faces of Urban Comedy.
He's also performed standup on Bill Bellamy's Who's Got Jokes, The Tom Joyner Morning Show, and Master P's Hoodstars of Comedy DVD. In 2006 he was selected as one of EBONY magazine's TOP BACHELORS which gave him even more delighted exposure.
Although Marion plans to represent Jackson, MS to the fullest, he's proud to be a product of the tough DC comedy circuit.
