This is the official Black Planet Kings Court page. We will be updating this page as often as possible. Anyone wwit skilss in this stuff holla at me.

Kings Court Entertainment

Kings Court Entertainment is an independent urban music label that works out of the east end of the G.T.A. It is run by a small yet enthusiastic staff of music lovers, who enjoy all aspects of the music making process. Headed by Philip Shaw, the mission of the label is to release music for lovers of the urban culture in Canada and throughout the world. Kings Court Entertainment intends to serve as a platform for urban artists to play a pivotal role in creating music in partnership with the label itself. The goal of the label is to lead by creating songs that are both commercially viable and socially conscious.

Kings Court Entertainment is the realization of a long held dream of Philip Shaw, the mastermind behind the label. The name, ? Kings Court,? originated back in 1992, when a bunch of like minded teens decided to form a hip hop group by the same name, founded and managed by Philip Shaw. After the group disbanded, Philip decided that he would carry on the dream by some day creating a record label that would encourage and help young artists such as himself. He then went on to graduate from the Trebas Institute with a diploma in Music Production. After finding a group of artists and staff that shared his same vision, Kings Court Entertainment was born.

The label?s roster currently consists of 3 solo artists and 1 group and still continues to grow. Kings Court also consults with other artists by aiding them to develop certain aspects of their careers. Each of our artists brings something distinct to the label and to the urban music industry as a whole.

There is Mums Da Disciple, who was the premiere artist signed to Kings Court Entertainment as well as being an original member of the Kings Court crew. Mums brings conscious and spiritually uplifting hip-hop lyrics with mass appeal. He is determined to be the light in the darkness, which separates him from the rest of the pack. He is also currently a member of the group 905th Brigade with fellow label mate D Stlyz.

Next Performance for Mums the Disciple is this Saturday September 20th. representing the 905th Brigade Mums will be hitting the stage @ the Urban Collective Fundraiser for various programs to help at risks youths through the Evergreen Center. All proceeds will be going towards this worthwile cause.
