Well Kept Woman

worthy is the woman well kept

Though the notion of her natural

inferior and inept

She is The contradiction of one

who is coarse in conversation

Knowing the one who speaks

becomes porous through observation

In thought there is thunder

Footsteps of the king unseen

Under his heel she feels

The pressure to purge things unclean

Every deed a seed

Every sin a weed

Not fooled by the fragrance of a flower

Forever is a tree

With roots that fall but never falter

Like knees before an altar

She is the fruit of the Father

Her nectar mystery.
