This is Meteorologist Dwain Elvin Miller Jr. and I am a full-time employee in Jacksonville, Florida as a GIS Analyst for the US Army Corps of Engineers. I recently graduated from Florida State University, as a graduate student in Geographic Information Systems and also obtained an undergraduate degree in Meteorology from the same institution.

I was accepted to the University of Miami for the Fall 2010, but decided to stay in Jacksonville for at least another year for work before I work towards obtaining a Doctorate of Science in Tropical Meteorology and work at the National Hurricane Center. I've had this dream since I was about six or seven years old and I will succeed :) For those of you who may ask why I chose to become a meteorologist instead of the "usual" careers that most young African-American men my age decide to pursue, it's all about being different with me. I want to become a successful person so that when my life comes to its close and God calls for me to anoint with Him in the Spirit, I want to say that I WILL make an impact on this world before I leave this unstable planet that most of us call home. WATCH OUT!! i might be on television one day so prepare to get excited to see my handsome face in the future, lol....just messing with yall!! Who I'd like to meet:
I would really like to meet some individuals from the Civil Rights' Movement that have inspired me to become as focused on my career as I am. Unfortunately, I know this will be unable to take place, however, I can settle with meeting George W. Bush. I'm sorry to all the Republican people out there, but Bush all I have to say is this...... STEP UP and BE A MAN about your responsibilities as the leader of this country. We are beginning to slowly fall apart as the years pass by and it seems like all you care about is the war overseas. People throughout THIS country are dying from natural disasters (Hurricane Katrina) and unemployment rates continue to rise. Worry about THIS country and its problems before you go jump into the affairs of others... As for those that are living, just someone that is down-to-earth, has a good head on their shoulders, and is driven to succeed....
