I am the spitting image of my mother.
The twinkle in the eyes of my father.
Share the same qualities with so many of my Sisters and Brothers.

My hair is as black as the night sky and my skin as the beach sand.
My curves come from the many sultry latin women of my roots.
My roots that give me the swagger in my hips, and the thickness of my legs.
That when moved at a beat can make a man tremble at his feet.
I give off the many colors of what makes my people so unique.
For in our blood we carry what is in every man and women.
We are mixed with all the beutiful colors of our nations.
That we may never be singled out at a glance.
From white to black and ever color in between.
There is only one way to know who we are, and who`s me.

It comes out of our mouths when spoken to.
Seen by far when we walk by.
Its felt when we have been wrong`d.
Our tempers come from our strong pasts.
Where we as women hold everything in tact.
We are the trees of our homes sturdy and never disturbed.
Our men work hard to the bone.
Knowing they are the protectors of our homes
They will work through pain.
knowing that from pain they gain.

From wars to domestic, We shall over come.
For we were taught well.
We are taught to endure and outlast.
For my people know how to survive.
Through hard work and dedication we thrive.

I am the spitting image of my mother.
The twinkle in the eyes of my father.
Share the same qualitites with so many of my sisters and brothers.
