Hi! I'm Alberto, a man with everything a man is supposed to have - two eyes, a nose, a mouth ... A doctor, friend of mine, a few years ago, told me that I also have a scaphoid... I confess that I stayed puzzled by that fact, but when she told me she had one too, I immediately understood what she wanted - the old trick "soul mate with a lot in common". And to kill the conversation, I immediately told her that I was not interested. She was silent for a few seconds, and suddenly she shouted at me to leave her office immediately, because I was one of the greatest idiots she had known in her entire life. It is amazing how certain women, despite their academic training, lose their composure so easily! I discussed the case with a friend of mine, who is gay, and he suggested that I try a relationship with a man, but I immediately told him that I did not play in this championship, for two reasons - an affective one and a physiological one. On the one hand, I didn't feel any attraction to people of the same sex, and on the other, even if I wanted to, I couldn't, because I have hemorrhoids. So, from that time on, I dedicated myself entirely to my work - I am a Portuguese auditor in a service in the European Union. I travel a little across Europe, although with little time available other than work. But I love having breakfast in Paris, having a fresh fish lunch, in Matosinhos, or San Sebastian, having a snack in Milan or Florence and having dinner in a small bar on Chalkos Beach, in Crete, or on a terrace in Valletta, in Malta. I speak Portuguese (of course!), French, English, Spanish and I think I also speak Italian, but Italians are not completely in agreement with me, in this conclusion... I go to the gym almost every day, even when I'm out of my home area. I like cinema, theater and music - all kinds of music, from classical compositions, to jazz, soul, or even popular music. However, I haven't been to a rock concert for many years, even though I like some bands a lot - I got tired of paying a ticket to hear the guys next to me accompanying the band's singer... I like mature women, who know what they want from themselves and who assume that beauty is ageless. Wrinkles, stretch marks and small chats are, for me, war wounds that testify the passage through life, doing what they should do, in each moment. Therefore, they add to the natural charm of these women. And with that, I consider myself introduced. Now I hope you tell me about yourself... Here. On the fresh side of life.

THE AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS. For the last 5 or 6 years, I've been making posts on BlackPlanet that I never imagined would be necessary. I thought I should tell some Americans that the USA is a Democracy and that there are no perfect democracies, but it's better to live in an imperfect democracy than in a perfect dictatorship... But there are aspects of American Democracy that should be improved, as quickly as possible. possible. 1 - INDIRECT VOTE. This way of electing the President and Vice-President is anachronistic and is much closer to the standards of the 19th century than the 21st century... The election of delegates is no longer justified! In the past, the majority of voters were either illiterate, or close to it... Today, the illiteracy rate of American voters is practically non-existent. So, this means that Americans are in a position to elect their main rulers with a direct vote. Americans do not need to elect individuals who, in turn, will vote for those they already voted for... This does not happen in any other Western-type democracy and constitutes a certificate of minority that the Electoral System passes on to its own people. 2 - USE OF STATE LAWS IN ELECTIONS OF FEDERAL POWERS. I do not know of another federal country where elections for federal positions (Presidency, Senate and Congress) are subject to state rules and political and judicial decisions by state governments and judiciaries. This is nonsense! A Governor of a State should not be able to establish the rules for elections for positions more important than his own. A congressman, for example, can be elected from Alabama; but as soon as he is invested in the position, he becomes a representative of all the people of the USA, but a governor represents just the peopel of his own State...More important becomes the case of the President and Vice-President. Whether in vast countries, such as Brazil, in densely populated countries, such as India, in highly technologically and socially developed countries, such as Germany, or in small countries that are global references, such as Switzerland, the election of federal office holders is regulated by federal laws. The USA must reform its electoral laws, because reality has changed and the Law must follow the evolution of the country and its people.

THE FLOWER
Someone asks a child: Draw a flower! Paper and pencil are given. The child will sit in the other corner of the room, where there is no one else.
After a while the paper is full of lines. Some in one direction, others in another; some more loaded, others lighter; some easier, some more difficult. The child wanted so much strength in certain lines that the paper almost did not resist.
Other lines were so delicate that just the weight of the pencil was too much.
Then the child comes to show people these lines: A flower!
People don't think these lines look like a flower!
However, the word "flower" walked inside the child, from head to heart and from heart to head, looking for the lines with which a flower is made, and the child put some or all of those lines on paper. Perhaps the child had put them out of their right places, but those are the lines with which God makes a flower!

José de Almada Negreiros, in "The Invention of Bright Day" (1921)

This is perhaps the best known piece of Portuguese classical music - Harpsichord and Strings Concerto, in A Major, by the Portuguese composer Carlos Seixas (1704-1742).
Performance by the Norwegian Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Ketil Haugsand and this is the first movement (Allegro).
The photographs depict Gare do Oriente, one of Lisbon's railway stations, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
If you are a romantic person, close your eyes and feel the lightness of this great music...

BLACK WOMAN' TEAR

I met a black woman
who was crying,
I asked her for a tear
to analyze it.

I collected the tear
very carefully
in a test tube
well sterilized.

I looked at her from the side,
from the other and from the front:
had a drop air
very transparent.

I ordered the acids,
the bases and the salts,
the drugs used
in such cases.

I rehearsed in the cold,
I tried it on the fire,
of all times
gave me the usual:

No negger signs,
no traces of hate.
Water (almost everything)
and sodium chloride.

António Gedeão, 1997

Pedro Osório died ten years ago. He was a great conductor and a great pianist who, despite his classical training, believed in cultural fusion.
Here we have "O Beijo do Sol (The Kiss of Sun)" - a song composed by Pedro Osório, from a traditional chant of a Kenyan tribe, with whom he recorded this track, when he was already very sick...

We are born alone, we live alone and we die alone.
Only through love and friendship, we can create the illusion, for a moment, that we are not alone.

The Azores islands are more than an archipelago; they are one of the last natural paradises in Europe.
Madredeus were one of the most talented Portuguese music groups and when natural beauty inspires talent, the result can only come out like this...

MOMENTS

I don't know if it's twilight or dawn.
I know there are orange hues on the horizon,
But I don't stop to observe the path of light.
I just capture the moment.
This moment, without before and after.
Just because it's "the" moment.

Then, there will be other moments,
That will erupt in the same way
And they will be twilight or dawn
Because they both merge and confuse in the same colors and shades.
Moments I'll see or maybe not...
And they will be “the” moments, too.

But they will never be this moment...
