Bringing my new school flavor and a old school soul, it's no wonder why they call me the New Ol Skool of TLC. I've spent over 30 years on planet earth; almost all those years have been spent as an active citizen of music. My passion and love for the radio culture is so strong, it is only right that people refer to me as such. Born and raised in Indiana, my courtship with radio started at an early age. Back when I was 8 or 9 I remember carrying this cheap boombox around repeating everything I heard the DJ announced. My mama wanted me to be a violinist; I wanted 2 turntables and microphone. Music has always been my escape. Whenever I was upset I would just turn on the radio. Thru the years, my passion for radio has never died. now i'm on the radio. In fact, the radio station I grow up listening to 106.7 WTLC. I'm not new to the TLC Family. I started off as an intern learning everything I could as I worked hard to reach my dream of being on the radio. Then the opportunity came when I was offered the position as Producer for The Tom Joyner Morning Show. Since then i've been making moves. If there is one statement that describes me, It would be down to earth. Whether you are male or female, young or old. No Matter what your race or ethnicity is, I makes you feel like we're homies. Not only am I the producer of the TOM JOYNER MORNING SHOW ; I am the new host of the Saturday Night Basement Party. I invite all you OL SKOOL to tune in 8 to 12 and hit me up on the hotline 239-1067 for your shoutout. you can also see the calendar for other times you can hear me LIVE!

What were you doing before radio? Before I became the producer of the Tom Joyner Morning Show and an On-air Personality for one of the longest running urban radio station in the country I had to get fired! I used to sell vacation timeshares. Some of you will think I'm crazy, and some of you will get it. God has a plan for me.

Favorite Movie: It's a toss-up! The Last Dragon or Warriors

Favorite Color: Black

Favorite Food: Chicken and Red Kool-aid

Who is your favorite fictional Character? Batman: he has no superpowers and instead relies on "his own knowledge, and athletic prowess." He is physically at the peak of human ability in dozens of areas, like martial arts. His primary character traits can be summarized as " physical prowess; deductive abilities and obsession." My alter ego...lol

Hobbies: My hobby is to keep myself busy. I'm always doing something to manage stress! That's how I stayed out of jail. I love djing, practicing martial arts, working out, kicking it with my family and friends, watching movies. You name it; I probably do it!

Early Bird Or Night Owl: How about both? People always ask when do I sleep; but everyday i'm hustlin' and hustlers don't sleep !

So what's next? some R&B diva's music video

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: 10% of all you earn is yours to keep

Posted October 29th, 2008 at 12:16am

"STEADY PLODDING BRINGS PROSPERITY; HASTY SPECULATION BRINGS POVERTY" Proverbs 21:5 When it comes to money, I always say the best offense is a good defense. I was 18 when I first stepped out on my own. Mama kicked me out because I thought I was a man. Anyway, it was one of the biggest learning experiences in my life. What I learned is always have a plan and two back-up plans. In the trunk of my car I found this book that I grab for my mom's house and still to this day I have it "The richest man in Babylon" by George S. Clason. It was my first step to acquiring money, keeping money, and making money earn more money. When I was a boy, my dad use to say "Save a quarter, you might need it to buy a girl a piece of bubblegum!" It's easy to postpone starting to save for a later day, but a solid saving plan is key to success. Here is step 1 to my money survival guidelines that I follow and I hope that I am helpful in your journey to achieving financial security. After you pay your tithes, pay yourself first. I use direct deposit to keep me in the habit of saving. Money will be deposited from my check without me seeing it, which makes me less likely to miss it. I simply take a portion of every paycheck and deposit it directly into my savings account. Make sure you use an account that you don't have a debit card or checks to. That way you won't spend it! I save 10% of my paycheck. The general rule of thumb is to save about 10% of each paycheck. If that seems too high, try 5% and work your way up to saving 10% of your earnings. Add 1% every year you get a raise until you reach 10%. If I can give one piece of advice, this is it because doing this first step is the foundation to set you on a sure path to prosperity. So, get money, money!
