7/25/2007 Who am I? What do I do? Where am I from?

I am me. Mostly introverted, unless around those I know or in a comfort area. Attending Devry University, uh, when I can. Work for a major telecommunications company as a Data Analyst. Most IMPORTANTLY, father of the absolute most beautiful girl on DA PLANET. CHI-Town, souf-syde, wyld wyld 100's (most of the time).

Almost a year to the date since my last meaningful edit of my BP page. To those that I care about and I say "whats up".

To friends:

K.A., Your poetry is OUTSTANDING, ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. It is good to see you capitalize off your gift with the immenent publishing of your book. You are one talented and intelligent individual. I like your website www.classicpoet.com, great job!!

EBE, Keep your head up, your family and friends KNOW who you are and your stength of character and the spirit that lies within you. I am sure you are in all of our prayers, do not let the current circumstances change who you are at your core.

Adrienne, CONGRATULATIONS on your Doctorate...wait, does that mean I have to address you as Dr. Adrienne from now on? I hope you and Frank all the best. I know he has the best in YOU so he better hold up his end of the bargain.

TCW, you are in my prayers. I know that times are tough (isn't that an understatement?) but the strength and character you have shown is remarkable. We both know that He will not put on you more than you can personally bear though. That shows that you are truly an extraordinarily strong person. You can beat the "C" word and though it almost seems impossible, strong as you are, even YOU will come out a stronger person as a result.

John, congrats on your marriage. The wedding and reception were great. I pray the very best for you and Rachel. You know I wanted to tell the story about you and Cap and the baseball field so bad at the reception...LOL.

Demetrius, man, go ahead and get that schooling man!! Proud of you brotha from anotha mutha. Get that paper so you can get that PAPER. $$$$$ makes it go round man.

To fam:

Terron, congrats on your first child. There is nothing more rewarding, nothing more challenging, nothing more daunting, nothing more important than raising a child. You got the tools to handle it though, so, no worries.

Asia, congrats on your graduation!! We are all proud of you. You have grown to become a wonderful young lady...and you better stay that way!

Dad, its been about 12 years, 8 months still miss ya man, I know you can see us from "up there" though. I hope we have been and/or can do you proud.

7/28/2006:

Last year there was a GREAT day. Approximately 2000 BLACK men were accompanied by several Black women and a few White people in a March and demonstration against the SERIOUSLY Imbalanced treatment in the Chicago public school system specifically and Illinois' public school system in general. We were led by Reverend Senator James T. Meeks in this demonstration. Pastor Meeks gave an impassioned speech in which he gave a detail of the imbalance between predominantly white schools and predominantly black schools when it comes to quality teachers and facilities. I felt a swell of pride as we marched through the Chicago streets on the near north side shouting "save our schools" and "Man up" and well wishers applauded along the way.

The staging area to begin the March was Walter Payton College Prepatory:





And ended at the Federal Plaza in Downtown Chicago (The Loop) where a few dignitaries preceded Pastor Meeks with brief important speeches of their own. Alderwoman Dorthy Tilman was one of the speakers:



Then Pastor Senator Meeks stepped to the mic and brought the thunder:




It was a GREAT DAY.

The second young lady is Asia, the second oldest niece of mine posing and lookin gorgeous, she is my second oldest niece.
