Enslavement is merely one chapter in the long history of African people. Never begin a discussion of the history of people of African descent with a discussion of slavery and enslavement
"We spend much time struggling to achieve freedom, in an external manner, but true freedom can only come from within, through freeing the Mind."

THE LIBATION (TAMBIKO)
You’re not an Afrikan because you’re born in Afrika. You’re an Afrikan because Afrika is born in you. It’s in your genes...your DNA...your entire biological make-up. Whether you like it or not, that’s the way it is. However, if you were to embrace this truth with open arms… my, my, my...what a wonderful thing!"
The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed"
"You can't hate Afrika and not hate yourself. You show me one of those people over here who has been thoroughly brainwashed, who has a negative attitude toward Afrika and I'll show you one who has a negative attitude toward himself. You can't have a positive attitude toward yourself and a negative attitude toward Afrika at the same time.. To the same degree your understanding of and your attitude toward Afrika becomes positive, you'll find that your understanding of and your attitude toward yourself will also become positive."
"This is but a mere feeble effort in saying: Without you, African/Black mother, there would have been no us--African/Black fathers, sons and daughters. Do we need to say any more African/Black mothers, our own true goddesses! Let us praise you to the highest, telling the world about your righteousness. Let us tell the entire universe about your sacredness African/Black woman." --Yosef A.A. Ben Jochanan (Elder Master Teacher/Griot)

The Dogon (Ancient Afrikan Master Astronomers) Tell Us We Come From Sirius...What Do U Think?
The Ankh has come to symbolize life and immortality, the universe, power and life-giving air and water. An Ankh serves as an antenna or conduit for the divine power of life that permeates the universe. Also, its power provide the wearer with protection from the evil forces of decay and degeneration. The Ankh resembles a key and is considered the key to eternal life after death or the key to unlock the gates of death.
The loop of the Ankh is held by the Gods and Goddesses. It is associated with Isis(Aset) and Osiris(Asar) in the Early Dynastic Period. The loop of the Ankh also represent the feminine discipline or the (womb), while the elongated section represent the masculine discipline or the (pen*is). These two sacred units then come together and form life.

Ase is generally defined as "the power to make things happen" and also refers to the spiritual life force that flows through things, much like the Chinese concept of chi. Ase can also be used to express agreement -- saying "Ase!" can be like saying "Right on!" Ase is also a way of saying, "so let it be" and is used by Orisa worshippers in the way "amen" would be used by Christians following a prayer.

In the Tradition of the Afrikan Warrior
Study your enemies. "A warrior needs to know his enemy's weaknesses." "Know your enemy. Anytime you stop fighting your enemy simply because he says things that sound like what you want to hear, you are making a mistake. You have got to pay attention to exactly how he says it." Question the oppressor's culture. Seek... (continue reading) photos (171) |
