WWW.MYSPACE.COM/MASIJAY1 From the sweet melody of his voice to the irreplaceable lyrics that he compose they say "MasiJay has it all". Growing up in the streets of the Detroit's Westside he has had his chance to experience the highs and the lows in his young life. He was born March 8, 1986 at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, MI. The youngest of three along with his two siblings Chassidy and Tia Watson were raised by both parents Annette and Larry Watson. In and out of Church choirs as a youngster MasiJay soon discovered his passion for music. Soon he began to write his own Lyrics and rap them to radio instrumentals with a lifelong friend Sharp(LowDown76). They would spend hours on the front porch freestyling and Beat Boxing . By the age of 11 Masi and Sharp had saved up enough money to buy a Beat Machine, 4-Track Recorder and two Stage Microphones. From the Garage to the Basement and countless Local performances they had their swag going in the direction they wanted. Now accompanied by eight others(Sazo, Ste-lo, Judo, Joker, Trajic, Da-1, Dough Boy and Great Dame) the Local rap group was known around town for their heartfelt performances and Mixtapes as "The Legacy". By the age of 18 Masi started to branch off to other styles of music, and work with other artist like Lynk Sheez and G-Green. He also started composing and performing R&B and Hip Hop VS just Gangster Rap. Recording his first R&B track "Flowers on the Bed" with Big Shot Records he knew this would be the way to blow up. Ever since MasiJay has been creating the unique blended sound of Hip Hop/R&B/Soul that put shivers through your spine. Searching to expand his exposure to the industry Masi at the age of 22 decided to move to Los Angeles, Ca. Just two weeks before leaving the unthinkable happened On July 20th 2008 Masijay was shot three times during an unsuccessful car-jacking. Starring at a picture of his oldest nephew(PJ) on the dashboard Masi drove to the nearest Gas Station. The owner called emergency and a bystander by the name of "Keith" called the closest people in his life his Mother and Father. Suffering from wounds to the chest, hand and upper back Masijay rode in the ambulance watching his entire life take a rewind. From childhood days, his family, happy and sad moments, his life all the way to an argument that he just had with his Girlfriend a couple of days before which now seemed so little and pointless. He always said that he would never be a victim in a story being told that ends with "Dang he was just about to ", and he didn't. Two weeks of recovery Masijay proceeded with his dreams, now residing in Hollywood, CA seeking a Major Label. Please believe this is the short version of his long young life and it won't be long until the world hears the long version with every moment.
