Mateo Amarei

Born and raised in Galveston Island, TX, Mateo began singing at the age of 5.   As a small child he was able to convey the facets of a song without actually knowing what he was doing.  Teo was always showcased as a child during family functions and church outings.  His inspiration to sing came from his parents who always sang in their hometown church choir, Church of Christ, in Galveston Island, TX.  At the beginning of his 7^th grade year, Mateo moved from the small Isle to the big city of Houston.  This is where the passion for singing and performing was spawned.  He joined the music program at Clear Lake Middle School and quickly ascended to their TOP choir, or “Spotlight Chorusâ€.  His Director, Mr. Johnson was a major part of who Matéo is now.  He saw something in him from the day he entered the choir room and timidly release those first initial notes.  He insisted very adamantly that Mateo continue with choir as a way to emphasize the talent he saw bottled in side of him.  Throughout his High School career at Clear Brook High, he stayed faithful to the choir where he met his directors, Mr. Marcum and Mrs. Griffith who had introduced Mateo to all different genres of music.  They also helped to cultivate his phenomenal ear for harmony with music spanning from Hebrew, Latin, Japanese, Classical and even Gospel. 

High School was the birth of the actual artist we now know as Mateo.  Stage fright was a challenge, but overcome while his writing had begun.

Mateo has always had a vision of how he wanted to do music.   His short-term goals are to be the 1^st solo male act out of Houston and also to be a part of the production on his first album.  His long term goals are to start writing and publishing team, and eventually be a part of a recording label company developing new artist, and producing music. With a variety of musical levels and his voice having chemistry from the heart his unique sound has not only turned heads but made people take a listen to what he has to say.  

One who he musically respects is Michael Jackson, because of his innovation.
