Is the reason because of the lack of knowledge or education, They wait patiently seeking liberation. From Life`s tribulation, Where triumph seeks manifestation. Do we truly understand and realize our history, Which is hid from us with mystery. Willie Lynch taught how to keep us bound, To keep our minds without sound. He taught us to be against one another, Even against our own brother. Ignorance from him we were taught, Deprived of the education we sought. But this deprivation, Didn`t stop our determination. We overcame his teachings, Withstood the heinous beatings. Some great people took on the fight, for our precious right. Of education only given to the man called white. Of freedom, freedom for the wicked man chains, These things the white man tried to ordain, but couldn`t sustain. For our prayers from the fields went up to heaven above, God heard the cries of the weary and sent down his precious doves. Angels sent to end the struggle and fight a good fight, Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman was the light. That led the way in the Underground Railroad, To bring our people out of the torment and scold. Then came Fredrick Douglas and others then Martin Luther King, With "I Have A Dream.." Which still lives on today, I know Martin Luther King is disappointed in his people and would say: Why is there black on black crime? Why are our black men doing time? What`s wrong with my black people? Is this just another sequel? Of the hatred breed by the white man, Can`t we understand? That in this land. We must strive for Excellency in our race, To unite and let love be our base. For we fought for freedom from the hate, But we are determining our own fate. The black man is becoming distinct, Bound by the teachings of Willie Lynch. We fought long and hard for our future generations, And now they feel there`s no need for education. Can`t we see that this is to the white man`s delight, To see us kill ourselves and fight. They started with putting crack cocaine in our communities, But failed to discover their own neighborhood immunities. Of the white girl formed for the black man, I can`t understand in this dying land. They tried to bring it to our level, But found that themselves digging with their own shovels. Should I be afraid of the white man or of my own kind? Because they`re the one`s doing time, killing with black on black crime. But why shall we live with what was givin to us for destruction, Why are we causing this obstruction to be our construction? We must motivate, innovate, and contemplate without hesitation, And let the man above handle the manifestation and creation. Of our mind state and cancel the hate, Don`t overstate what the mind contemplates. Our mind can only conceive what we believe, Plan and produce what we retrieve. We are stereotyped for what we are known for, let`s close that door, And open the one never entered before. Take a road less traveled and become the leaders that we are, With God we are guaranteed to go far. |
