I'm 35 and trying something new. The cyber world is not one of my favorite places to meet people, but hey, a new year brings new opportunities and new challenges (of course). So, why am I here? My primary reason for creating a page on BlackPlanet is to meet new people from all over the world, network with those invidivuals, maybe learn a few new things, and perhaps teach others a few new things. Stranger things have happened. I am a single, open minded, down-to-earth female, educated, independent, honest, kind, with no children (yet), who resides in Washington, DC. I am originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I moved to the United States (Brooklyn, NY) when I was 5 years old. I've lived in DC for the last 11 years and have loved every minute of it. DC is an amazing place - full of things to do. Great museums, clubs (even though I don't hang out like I used to), restaurants,shows, sporting events, and concerts. Too much partying was a problem for a while but I've slowed down considerably. (SMILE) I tend to be a homebody but enjoy getting out from time-to-time. I go with the flow (to a fault at times) but I can be serious when necessary. I love to laugh and have a tendency to play jokes on my close friends (good natured jokes of course). It's all in love. I'm an outgoing person who never met a person I didn't like. Football, basketball, baseball, and and hockey passions of mine (to watch) - the Raiders are my favorite football team. Yes, we had a bad season but we ended on a postive note. Please don't send me a note asking what happened to my boyz - more than likely they lost. It's all good though. It's just a game right? :-) Next year will be our year (or so I keep telling myself). I bleed silver and black. Basketball? NY Knicks and Detroit Pistons. Baseball? NY Mets. Hockey? NY Islanders. Things that make me smile: a kind word when I've had a bad day; watching Season 3 of the Wire (Stringer Bell was killed. Damn that Omar); a Mocha Mint frappachino from Starbucks; my favorite lip gloss by Mac; tickets to a basketball game; my favorite fuzzy slippers; and a call from my 11 year old nephew (who acts like my father) checking to see if I made it home safely.
