I'm a Army Vet,Jacksonville Native, been around the world and back...Met some crazy people in some crazy places and established friendships worldwide. I lived and worked in many places during my military years...From New Jerz to Egypt, Cali to Kuwait, NC to Korea, VA to Germany, I've been there, done that, have plenty of T-shirts and am writing a trio of books about it all...
I'm a year and 3/4 into one of the best relationships I've had...Of course,we've had our ups and downs but we're both committed to making it work...I'm a Gemini,she's a Gemini so I guess we 'cancel out' each others' 'OTHER SIDE'... Our birthdays are the 19th (her) and 20th (me) of June so I guess I can NEVER use the excuse that I forgot her b-day...At ,east not if I wanna have a nice one!
2008 started out great, I'm definitely on point to getting my 1st book published in the fall of this year. I wanna give thanks to those of U who supported me in my endeavor and who gave me that push to stay focused when my mind wondered off on one of it's many tangents... To my group members,thank U for the inspiration, the critiques and the friendships. Thanks for 'telling me like it is' and keeping me in line. I hope to do great things and I wanna thank U all in advance 'cause once I BLOW UP, I might forget about U ! (LOL!! NEVER THAT!)
As for this year, I'm committed to working hard on myself and working hard for my community. I've started training for what may be my last two marathons (26 miles takes a lot out of U) Jax Bank/Donna Deegan Breast Cancer. My River Run (9.3 mi.) wasn't as good as I thought it would be...I went from a 1:39 last year to a 1:24 this year. My goal was 1:15...I guess I'll have to train harder and elbow more people outta my damn way next year!
I'm still teaching Yoga but not Aerobics anymore. U try to work for Black people sometimes and I'm sorry to say it just doesn't work out. So right now I'm looking for another gym to do my classes.I love it but I have to make sure the money is right!
I advocate and support many projects and programs in my city that help to uplift my 'brothas and sistas'. Namely Jax Journey which is a program geared at keeping our youth out of the streets and in an environment condusive to learning once they are out of school. There are a couple other programs I have 'my hand in' but I'm not gonna get too 'political' here...
I tend to be a 'forum' addict so if I'm on BP, and I'm not posting in my groups, U can moreoften than not find me blazing thru the forums... Any questions or if U just wanna say Hello,note me...I'm usually pretty good at responding. U can sign the GB if U choose... Until the next time...
