poem that I wrote a few years ago when I was thinking about writing

If We Only Had More Time
Perhaps with time I would have been able to tell you,
What a beautiful woman you are,
To say to you that since we first met I've wanted to belong to you
and you to me,
That in my dreams I've dreamed of a full moon and a cool night,
Of us running along the beach and laughing,
Of how I came to take you into my arms and you willingly received
my lips,
The night was still,
And the only sound was of your heartbeat,
Echoing in my ears,
Time became meaningless as each moment of our embrace changed to
another,
When my eyes finally opened I saw your eyes looking at me,
As if they where looking right into my soul,
They shined so brightly in the dim of the night,
I should have been blinded,
But all I could do is look at them in wonder,
Your hair was shining like the moonlit ocean as it blew in the
wind,
And as I ran my fingers through the thousands upon thousands of
strands of your hair,
I awakened from my dream to once again realize you were not
mine,
If we only had more time.
