I am a Midwest transplant like many here in the valley, now calling Arizona home from somewhere else. I am also multidimensional. I wear a lot of hats. I am a performance poet in the process of finishing my first book of poetry, to accompany the already completed spoken word cd of my works. I have toured with author Michael Baisden sharing my words and am a guest speaker at various events across the country. I am also a slam poetry champion and grand slam champion here locally and abroad.
I am a business owner as well, Massage therapy. I mentor, write, recite, travel, enjoy all music, and movies here and there. Let me tell you about my business. I am a licensed massage therapist (LMT), which means I have been trained to perform Swedish massage, Pregnancy massage, Sports massage, Reflexology, Injury massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and Shiatsu to name a few. My company is Bodywork Excellence International and has been in operation for several years now. My massage resume includes extensive volunteer work as well. I have to my credit did work for The Phoenix Childrens Hospital, The Susan G Komen breast cancer walk, The AZ Desert Classic road race (one of the last qualifying races for the Boston Marathon), and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It's an awesome profession, and it can't be put into words what it feels like to be a healer. Visit me online at bodyworkxi dot com and definately get a massage if you ever find yourself in need. You really should experience the quality of touch I have mastered, you WILL NOT regret it (wink).
This next subject is often brought up for discussion, so let me address it now. I am not looking for anything in particular in a woman. In general she needs to be confident, kind, attractive, and understanding. Supposedly, when you are NOT looking is when you find things, K, we'll see how that goes, lol. I am cultivating the habit of excellence because I`ve learned we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is NOT an act but a habit (Aristotle). If I haven`t scared you away holla atcha boy.
I like thick women, no that would be incorrect, I LOVE thick women. Tig ole bitties, big shapely legs, a PRETTY SMILE, a PRETTY SMILE, a PRETTY SMILE, part goddess, part sex fiend, and pretty feet with cute toes. Did I mention tig ole bitties (smile), cause I like tig ole bitties if I DIDN`T MENTION THAT. I also love to dance and will wear a sistah out if she didn`t come to party. If you DON`T fit this description that`s cool too since variety is the spice of life. Let`s transcend words and share some thoughts. If you`re from the Midwest or from anywhere else, hit My Home Town link and travel back to where I`m from and I welcome you in advance. I'll be waiting to hear from you.
****************************** ****************************** ****************************** ******** LADIES PLEASE RAISE YOUR BIG TOES AND REPEAT AFTER ME.
As a member of the Faux Paux Sisterhood, I pledge to follow The Rules When I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:
I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.
I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.
I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.
I will shave the hairs off my big toe.
I won`t wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, co-worker, mother or sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.
If a strap breaks, I won`t duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.
I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl`s if my feet need him.
I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low,low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle.
I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.
I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/co-worker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes look like they`ve been dragged behind her car on the way to work and no sandal in the world is going to make her feet look good.
I will promise if I wear flip flops, that I will ensure they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.
I will promise to go my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $15 and worth EVERY penny). I say spend another $15.00 and get an even better one.
I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show of wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.
May God bless your Soles as well as your Soul!

WOMEN:
By the time the Lord made woman, he was into his sixth day of working overtime. An angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much
time on this one?" And the Lord answered,"Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable and able to run on diet coke and leftovers.
Have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart-and she will do everything with only two hands."
The angel was astounded at the requirements. "Only two hands!? No way! And that`s just on the standard model? That`s too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish." "But I won`t," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days."
The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so soft, Lord." "She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish"
"Will she be able to think?" asked the angel. The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate."
The angel then noticed something and reaching out, touched the
woman`s cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one." "That`s not a leak," the Lord corrected, "That`s a tear!"
"What`s the tear for?" the angel asked. The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her
sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing"
And she is! Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when theywant to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don`t take no for an answer when they believe there is a better
solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get
awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when
they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring
joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals.
They givemoral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

My life today : -)
Commencement Speaker 2008
I am a graduate of the Arizona School of Massage Therapy. I graduated in August 2005 and have been licensed since October 2005. As a graduate I am at the school often to receive massage myself (you need 700 hours of instruction at a board approved school for Arizona where I live. The school incorporates weekend clinic so the students can accumulate the necessary hours to become licensed massage therapist) and as alumni then give evaluations to the students so they'll know how they are progressing. I was asked to come back to the school and give the commencement speech for one of the graduating classes in May of this year (2008). I have copied a part of the speech for you to enjoy here below. This part will also answer why I was asked to deliver the speech (I know some of you are wondering, lol). Enjoy!
I love being a massage therapist, the technical word for being a healer. I knew this is what I wanted to do from the moment I got off the table of the therapist who gave me my first professional massage (who worked at a Massage Envy and was a graduate coincidently from our sister school the Nevada School of Massage Therapy). I wanted to learn how to make people feel the way I was feeling at that moment. So I inquired where she learned the things she knew and how I could learn to do what she did. Here is a fact you can verify with Bobbi Peahu and she knows because I told it to her when she was processing my financial paperwork when I enrolled in school (Bobbi was present at the commencement but had not been told I was delivering the keynote address. She enrolled me in school and I hug and kiss her every time I come up to the school to visit. She's known me from an enrollee to present). I received that life changing massage on a Sunday, and was enrolled in Massage therapy school on Tuesday of the following week. and I have never looked back.
After you select your direction keep adjusting your path until you've found that what it is you end up doing, you love what you do. Are you going to know that right away? Maybe not! Only when you're able to accept the possibility of getting it wrong will you have the persistence to get it right. Meaningful success rarely comes from a single transaction. Success is a consistent pattern more than it is an isolated event. It is the way you live rather than some object or experience you acquire. In fact, the way to truly have success is to be success. Success is yours when you persistently embody the discipline, the integrity, the positive attitude, the respect and all the other attributes of which it is made. Visualize yourself today as a living, breathing, active and dynamic manifestation of success. In what way does such a vision compel you to think, to speak, to act, to live?
If you consider success to be something outside of you, that's where it will always remain, outside of you and apart from you. Instead, choose to not merely be successful, but to be success itself. In your thoughts, your words, your actions and your expectations, be the living embodiment of success. And whatever you envision will surely be within your reach. What will it take for you to be successful? 20 clients? You being the personal therapist of a player on a sports team? Job satisfaction? A massage therapist for the United States Olympic Team in 2012? What? Once you decide then you live it, breathe it, own it. Here are a few of my own personal examples to get your thoughts motivated.
After graduating from school I went into private practice and that is where I have stayed to date. As an independent contractor (and that is what I view myself as when I am working) my very first contract December 2005, was with the Verizon Wireless call center In Chandler, Arizona. I came in and did on-site chair massage. My next contract was with the T-Mobile call center in Tempe, Arizona where I also did on-site chair massage. Nearly one year to the date of my becoming a licensed massage therapist, September 2006, I used money accumulated from massage to put the down payment on a 2000 Cadillac Deville, the car I currently drive. The following year, October 2007, I took myself to Honolulu, Hawaii with the money I earned from my private practice. That lead up to this year, where I in February 2008, did massage therapy at Super Bowl 42 right here in Glendale, Arizona. I will be taking myself back to Honolulu in October of this year to commemorate a great year and a successful career thus far as a massage therapist. Visualize yourself as a success, and you will be. And finally, know this, you are not finished when you lose, you are finished when you quit.
