Talkin in sin
Sippin on somethin stronger than gin
For the fellas locked in the pen
On a cool summer night
2 buddies ready to fight
The sun has barely set
Arguin over a bet
Yellin about who car's the fastest
I'm crackin up laughin
Because I don't give a dam
It doesn't personify who I am
But I like the passion about my homeboy's love
And trippin on why D always wearin driver's gloves?

Now the focus turns to who's the best...

Minutes and hours go by and cell phones are ringing
Our Ladies are trippin cuz the milk we still bringing
Talkin so much ice melts in our cups
Ben is steady yappin, Dog Shut Da Hell Up!
Shakin our heads laughin, then I say, "U know whats scarey?"
Its been 20 years and we still talkin about Halle Berry!
Happiest around friends, chillin and talkin shyt!

intoxicating conversation that flow so free and natural
i smile when i hear you voice makes me want to have u
images of us on the porch laughing and quite old
stimulating talks with stories still untold
understanding in disagreement with no arguement
loving each other's company so much time spent
i hope your smile can make disappear such a bad day
as u stare straight deep in my eyes everything goes away,
i hope to find within her something that makes me say forever
her joy, happiness, and compassion can take away my never's
all the things i said i'll never do
hope those never's will NEVER come true
i hope the sky will be forever blue
but i'll take the rain if i'm with u
compromising essential wants can never be the case
everything i want and need i had when i saw your face
and got a taste of your warmth, kindness, and embrace
now all the demons are gone, u freed me from the chase

with all that said, is this wishful thinking?

CHANCE MEETING
 

Red light as I look down into her sedan
Catching her look away from my direction in a glance
Caramel skin tone and glasses to boot
Hair a bit of a mess but still kinda cute
I look over once again to see u watchin out
Thinking to myself, Whats that all about?
As I stare, I see u take a sip
From a water bottle pressed to your lips
The light still red as I glance toward your head
I see something that makes me laugh, I now I feel bad
A slim, tall bottle, burgundy top and label
Being put back in its bag, I now u not able
I see past your physical to wanna know your heart
As the light turns green our lives speeds apart
Who knows why u drink, all your pain in a bottle
It doesn't go away, it numbs as u swallow
I pray to our GOD and let His Angels surround u
I hope that you're better off than the way I saw u

The road less traveled leads to a field of open dreams
Not yet to be realized and added to my esteem
The power of my spirituality guides me to this field
The detours in the road leads to dreams unfulfilled
Unrealized potential coupled with a life of misdirection
Everything men know is measured by our erection
A contest of wills and a contest of thrills
Destruction is sought for a lack of showing how we feel
The politics of us knowing
Leads to the politics of us not showing
Meaning we can't figure out
What this life is all about
What is OUR reason, what is OUR season
Never not knowing leads to OUR racial treason
Great minds not refined or able to be replaced
Which will inevidently destroy the human race
We built this world and we built this land
