But for the very first time in my 30 years of news reporting I have been sought after for assistance in solving a 1 year, 4 month, and 26 day murder investigation. It's the determined attitude of women in Philadelphia... and it doesn't matter what area of the city they live in, who are pushing for solid answers about the sudden death of youth David William Flowers. This is what has driven me to help find a solid lead to his killer or killers. And folks, It's rare that I don't find what I'm looking for in this nasty business of investigations. Police are still searching for the man or men who bashed and killed one of two sons of Fannie Turpin allegedly while he was sound asleep in a West Philly home early Wednesday, August 26, 2009 morning. Philadelphia police responded to the home to find one man already dead. Witnesses don't say much about how someone walked up to the then 23 year old, affectionately known to friends and family as Day-Day. And now the killer is nowhere to be found. And so, a force of women grievance groups work to find the cowards who took Day-Day's life. Fay Dawson is a dedicated leader of women who has founded her own remembrance support organization called the Woodson Foundation. This will help make a difference in Ms Turpin's hope to know that justice will stop haters from getting away with things they do. David W. Flowers, born April 22, 1986, known as Day-Day, was a graduate of John Bartram High in 2006. He enjoyed drawing, writing stories, music and basketball. He was a team player on one of the youngest basketball age teams in the inner-city to win a basketball championship. That was in Philadelphia's first black 10-and-under Basketball league which was sponsored by the Mayor W. Wilson Goode Foundation "I feel the same way, I cannot sleep," Fannie says. "I feel like I'm not doing enough to end this tears nightmare. I wish that someone would stand up and be a man and own up to what they did," she said. R.I.P.
