November 14, 2011 - I recently lost my mother unexpectedly and today made one week that she'd been laid to rest. The most important thing that I've learned is no matter how busy you are in your own life, always make time for those who matter the most because you never know how long they will be here. When they are taken away from you so suddenly, we are not allowed a do over, nor can we reverse the hands of time back to get that one last moment. No one is promised tomorrow.

2nd - Although no one ever wants to have this conversation, but ask them where they keep their important documents and vice versa.

3rd - Tell them you love them and as often as you can.

I remember "once" when mom had to discipline me, she hugged me and kissed me afterwards and she said to me "I know you're mad at me right now, but I still love you".

I recently looked through my mom's bible and I found a letter that I had written to her when I was 21, after I had moved away from home. My mother had carried that letter around with her up until her last day...
