EYES TO THE GROUND IN PASSING


A body, now barely warm lays face up to the sky
on a cold, busy street
Dim eyes greet each passing cloud
with a blank stare.."hello?"
Swollen knees rusty with immobility
from a seemingly never-ending journey to nowhere

the dark empty cave from within screams for nourishment
hands ache
palms tired from cupping tin cans heavy only with hope
and bro ken dreams
contained depression ripping at the seams
becoming easier to believe
that this the beginning of the end

Grown folk look upon each dirty face with intentions to never step in the same shoes
And their children look afraid
afraid to know the stench of misfortune
JUST ANOTHA VIEW OF THE POOR & HOMELESS...Think on it...

I truly believe poetry to be my passion in life. I'm in the middle of trying to publish my first book. I used to rock the red (sometimes blond..(lol) afro during my college days..(smile) I'm a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University where I acquired my BS in Advertising. It would be nice to meet a MAN with a passion for something..someone who would like to take the time to get to know the passion in me..someone who thinks of physical love as secondary.. I love to love. I am not at all superficial or materialistic, but I want someone that takes care of himself and would like to take care of me as I would them....physically, emotionally etc..... Unfortunately, "A Good Man IS Hard 2 Find!!"

As stated before, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE to write poetry, about anything! I'm often fascinated how such a small encounter or situation can spark a 3-page poem. Not only do I write poems, but I enjoy making them come alive on stage, shows, open-mic's, church etc... I also like to read, sing to dress up to go places I've never been, (it's exciting!), jazz..R&B soul..COMEDY!!..movies..good food..a good time & good company( smile)
