PhotobucketAncient Civilization did not begin in what we think of as the West. It did not start in Europe, Rome, India, or Asia. Homo Sapiens migrated from Africa to inhabit all the continents except Antarctica, some 200,000 to 100,000 years ago..

Mother Earth

I feel her breath Hear her heart beat
Feel her gentle presence Under my feet Gaia
Our Mother Earth Holding the balance
Creating a safe space Her nurturing energy
Exuding grace Allowing each of us to tread our path
No judgements or conditions.Whether we cry
Or just laugh I feel so connected And in my power Feel the compassion Gentle and beautiful Like a delicate flower I surrender Let it all go Merging Allowing her heart energy Deep into my soul Her beauty And mine
Becoming as one Soothed by her gentle melody
Her beautiful song
Let us dance together Merging our hearts Knowing we are never really apart.

CREATE A HEALING ENVIORNMENT FOR YOURSELF

Posted May 17th, 2008 at 05:45pm

Through the ages and throughout the world, ancient healing practices have included sacred settings or places where people could come to renew, refresh, and heal themselves. Such sacred spaces have taken many forms. Think of Stonehenge with its ancient rituals, the miracles of Lourdes, the Holy Land and Mecca, the Great Pyramids, Native American sacred circles, and the exotic temples of Tibet.

CLAIMING LEADERSHIP

Posted May 16th, 2008 at 01:48pm

For many teachers and children, leadership is a very important issue. Children are examined by their expectant teachers with a view to make them leaders. This is obviously done with good intentions, with the parties believing the child in question will gain from this experience. To start out early on the job of leading others should be a noble thing but unfortunately, in our enthusiasm about the expected results, we seldom stop to ask ourselves if it works for all children. Sometimes these expectations for only good things can become such a burden to the prefect or the monitor that unknown to their teachers, they would rather be out of office. In this issue we examine this subject and try to look at it from our perspective, seeking the guidance of those that have had wide experience with charges who have been required to serve their peers as prefects. Is it true that once one becomes a leader, their future is always going to be bright? Since there is always a good side and a bad one to every equation, have we examined the negative side of the leader's life properly? We continue to call for the thoughts of teachers and educationists who may have a gem or two of wisdom to share with those in the profession with them. The programme is dedicated to bringing out the good things that teachers do for the children. For too long, teachers in this country have been sidelined and left to wallow in their misery. This should stop.

Success

Posted May 16th, 2008 at 01:46pm

To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
