Over the years, my father has provided me with many great pearls of wisdom. At the time I did not understand how profound his wisdom was. His most profound statement was: "The hardest job of a parent is to raise their child to be independent."

Two words when said with just the right pause and voice tone inflection can warm a parent's heart or send chills up their spine. Old sayings are the best because their truth has withstood the test of time. The entire clich states -"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree". Now you can see how those two simple words can cause parents pleasure and pain.
