I am me, first and foremost. I am one of life's eternal
soldiers. I am a black man in an unforgiving and harsh society,
fighting injustices and prejudices as they appear before me. I've
spent the entirety of my adult life in the armor of a soldier. I
was a good warrior, but I had to let it go. I've seen a lot this
world has to offer, but all through the jaded eyes of a soldier.
Now I am going to experience life to the fullest!!!
I've witnessed both miracle and tragedy. I drank from the
challis of pure joy when I witnessed the birth of both my children,
only to taste the absolute bitterness of sobering sorrow by burying
my 15 year old son. I wasn't ready...."Life Happened"!! I've
marched myself into mediocrity for the sake of the team's
superiority. I gave my all, and asked for nothing in return. Be
careful what you ask for, you may recieve it and sometimes it hurts
when you get it!!! It did for me! I had a friend tell me
once..."You have been rode hard and put away wet!!! It took me a
while to understand his meaning, but I finally do. I've reached a
point in my life where "Happy Hour" is an afternoon nap!!! HA HA
HA!!!
I fought for every inch of ever mile I gained. I have
lived, loved, laughed, lost and learned myself in the process. I
fit the skin I am in!!! I love being me. I love to laugh and can
see the humor in most things. I am told my laugh is quite
infectious. A spoonful of sugar really does help the medicine go
down!!! I've met so many great people and made lasting friendships.
I fought along side some of the world's greatest warriors and lost
a few brothers. I have partied with some of the funniest drunks,
and made great memories. I was entrusted with the lives of so many
good souls, and I lost none but my own. When you see me I will be
smiling, even when masking the pain. I said my final good-bye to my
mother, my strength, in June of 2006. I wasn't ready....Life
Happened"!! I don't like anything negative around me. I love
meeting new and positive people!!
Tragedy and adversity really lets you know who you are,
and who your true friends are. Do not judge me, cause I am not
judging you. I see life not as a contest to be won or lost, but as
a journey to be lived, loved and shared. Friendship shouldn't use
or be used, but cherished. I believe that friends are quiet angels
who help lift us to our feet after a fall. If you fall, I will help
you back on you feet. If i fall will you help me, or will I rise
only to find that it was you that caused the fall? I am a very
loyal friend and would give you the shirt off my back. But be
careful, it may not fit....I am a big boy!!! HA HA
HA!!!
I was learning to become a personal trainer bringing
fitness to all that would listen. My personal training business was
gaining momentum like an avalanche until..."Life Happened"!!! I got
deployed to Iraq and sustained injuries. I use the word "avalanche"
to describe my fitness movement because my business was called
"I.C.E Sculptures" by "Works Of ART". I.C.E stood for Inner Child
Experience and the initials ART are actually my own name. I am a
Cleaver puppy, huh? The photo you see is the first draft of the ICE
lettering for my business. Let me know what you think, it has since
evolved but I am waiting on a trademark before releasing it
online.
