ABOUT ME:

UPDATE APRIL 6, 2010: I just returned from another 2 months in Kenya, on the Swahili coast, where I excavated at a mosque complex. We took skeletal material from 16 individuals which will have DNA work done on them to compare them to modern Swahili peoples. At least one of the skeletons showed extreme boney regrowth/fusion on the distal fibia/tibula, indicating severe disease (yaws or endemic syphilis maybe??). VERY VERY COOL STUFF!!! Am I boring you?

My first trip to the motherland, was in 2008. I spent two months in Kenya on the Ethiopian border at Lake Turkana. I was there working on paleo-archaeological dig sites (Holocene and Pleistocene) at the birthplace of humanity, where the earliest Kush-speaking pastoralists were creating great art forms in the way of monuments and pottery long before the birth of Christ. MOVING ON:

I'm a Bostonian by birth and at heart. Big time Red Sox fan, tried and true thru thick and thin. I love the SPORT of baseball, everything about baseball. Although I will die a Sox fan, I also have respect for the Cubs, Seattle and the Mets. I love double and triple A ball, probably MORE than I love big league baseball.

I am a single mom, and I don't smoke or do drugs. I do drink occasionally (meaning that I'll have a drink a few times a year), but you'd never find me sitting at home drinking - I do it when I'm out of the house, being a good role model to my daughter is very important to me. My daughter has NEVER seen me take a drink, and I'll keep it that way. I don't hang in clubs or bars, that got a little played out a long time ago. I'd rather do something that will expand my mind.

I am all about lover's rock and old school reggae. I love beaches, travel. I love interacting with people who are different than I am, it gives us that much more to talk about, share, explore, and learn.

I don't know how I feel about online dating, but if I can make some good friends or just someone to shoot the shyt with from time to time, then I guess it's all worthwhile.

Just a reminder: Be sure to spend your dollars at local mom and pop stores or minority owned businesses. Support small businesses and stop sending your money overseas or making the fat cat fatter.
