Here is my latest. Written to a friend,

Sorry I'm getting this so late.

Yo, sin is just sin, it pulls us in and then we just fit in,

like we've always been,

struggling, but flowing like the ink from a fountain pen,

listing out words from the hand that is in control,

fighting hard, but at the end of the day, we fold,

our hands, and surrender, doubting that the cards we have will be able to win the book,

fearful that the trumps will cut the very things that we have counted,

focused to narrowly,

forgetting that there is someone that has sacrificed for thee,

that has declared freedom for both you and me,

why trip, no slip, don't dip,

just rip open the word,

like breaking the seal from the can of Pringles,

knowing full well, that with Christ, you are not single,

you have a partner,

that is all you need,

yes indeed,

more than the drink, more than the smoke,

able to do more than you can inhale or consume,

have your stomach pumped repent to remove the residue,

open the Bible to find more clues,

as to the direction you need, following the map,

Bible in hand like a compass, leading you towards freedom,

you are no longer condemned, you are free.

Confess it, live it, walk it, trust it, believe it, sleep on it.

The rest will return. The peace will return. The favor will return. The control will return.

The direction will return. The love will return. The confidence will return just as soon as you return to the one that turned you!

He's there, let Him in.

You Will Win!

We always do!!!!!

Man, I haven't updated in a long while. But here the latest piece that I've written. I want lots of feedback as usual, and I pray that it is a blesing to all of you, as it has been to me. Spiritual Sunglasses. (PastorJohnny@Firstmet.org)

Un-Spoken, Spoken Words
Spiritual Sunglasses

Has your silence ever spoken for you,
Been louder than you,
More profound than you?

Has the voice of your silence,
Muted the words that you speak,

Have you tried to speak, but lacked the words,
And the Silence heard, spoken every word,
Has a look ever yelled,
Or a frown ever ever compelled,
You or another to make right the wrong that was felt.

Has your Silence ever articulated an entire day,
Have you ever in Silence, had to lead the way,
Have words ever failed you,
Not lived up to their expectations,
Proven to be flawed,
Shown to have limitaitons,
While your Silence served as your greatest proclaimation.

Sometimes in Silence,
We find truth,
The reality of a struggles, hurts and pains,
Covered with the blanket of Silence,

Waiting to be revealed,
Desireing to be uncovered,
Opening the harsh pains of violence,
Received by the onslaught,
Of an offensive attack, by a potent enemy,
Who wins the majority of his battles with us,
In our Silence,

And through our Silence,
As we lock away,
An existing reality,
Chaining down the truth,
That fights to hard to burst through the vocal halls,
And out through the guiser of life.

But our Silence fights,
To keep the truth from seeing the light,
Battleing our words,
Thus they go un-heard,
Un-Spoken, Spoken words,

Thus, if I ever have nothing to say,
It's because you're not listening,
To my,

Un-Spoken, Spoken Words.

Obedience, Better than Sacrifice

Posted

Obedience is better than sacrifice,
You have advised us of this truth,
So why is it so hard to do what is best for you?
When you know that you know,
That it is right,
That it's a sin in your sight,
When you know that you are straying from the narrow path,
When you know that you are inviting God's wrath,
Why is it tough?
To be obedient,
When you know it's for the best,
That it determines how you receive eternal rest,
Why is it so easy to travel the road most traveled,
Knowing that one turn could... (continue reading)

I Can't Stand the Pain

Category: Religion and Philosophy

You have been given an advantage.
In this world where people lack the ability to feel,
You are sensitive to the world around you, s
Seing it for what it is,
One big confrontation of good and evil,
Of light and darkness,
Of pain and pleasure,
A confrontation of reality,
Yet many seek to numb its presence,
By sedating themselves with lifes medicine,
Poisin rather,
Killing themselves slowly by taking escapes from what exist,

Is... (continue reading)

None of us were perfect,
Without flaw,
Merely broken pieces,
Held together by the hope,
That someone will take us off the shelf,
And drink from a cup,
That is cracked and missing a handle.
Because of our brokenness,
People have to drink from us with care,
And we have to trust,
That they will not drop,
Or destroy,
What we are entrusting them with,
Believing that we all contain a sweet nectar,
Worth more than tasting,
Deserving of consuming,
And... (continue reading)
