personal message

The man many of you know as rhemawrd from the BP community,is in fact, Bishop W. Phillip Yarborough, Jr., the pastor and founder of one of the most powerful deliverance ministries to ever hit the east coast of the USA. Rhema Word Ministries is a full Gospel, nondenominational ministry with a focus toward teaching practical application of the Holy Bible so that the people of God are empowered to live and operate at the standard set for them by their Creator. This ministerial focus is derived directly from James 1:22-25, wherein Christians are taught how to become doers of the Word.

To God be the Glory! Thank You Jesus!

Today, I take my oldest son to college. I can't tell you how proud I am of him as a father. This is seeing all of my hard work pay off, and all of my prayers being answered. This might not seem like much to some, but when you live in a city with the highest teenaged pregnacy rate, the highest high school drop out rate, and the highest HIV/AIDS rate in the nation, watching a young, Black man defy the odds and avoid becoming a statistic makes you feel good inside.

I don't... (continue reading)

What have we come to as a people?

Posted

I ask the question, what have we come to as a people? This question, due to the observances I've made not only on this site, but within the Black community in general.

First, I called myself making the transition back to Black Planet after a lengthy migration over to Black Voices. After watching the serious decline of the BV environment since it's aquisition by AOL, I thought that BP might be a beter experience. Though I know how the internet can be, and expected a few... Two of these are true about me. No joke. Which one's the lie? Take a guess...
