ANTI-ZIONISM OR ANTI-SEMITISIM: A Disclosure of Meaningful Definition

Recently, one of my dear BlackPlanet.com Network friends wrote me concerning whether or not SIAM is guilty of perpetrating anti-Semitism. Perhaps this Letter to Lady E may clarify things for others who may find SIAM’s written response an enlightening and significant one. The following is her letter to SIAM and his response to her:

"My Dear Siam...I am so pleased to see you have returned here.......so I am contacting you to regenerate our friendship.....I was disturbed by... (continue reading)

Black Male Anal-Retentive Homophobia: SIAM's Response to A Question

“Fellas, if another man shows up in your page log, do you automatically assume he’s gay?”

This was a question one of my many friends asked that I responded to on his personal page, but after further consideration I think my response should be presented and possibly heard by others of a larger audience of my BP friends perceptive enough to listen and contemplate it. What I wrote as a response to Mr. Spann’s above question has now been expanded... (continue reading)

MEDITATION FROM THE MALA'IKA

[Meditation from the Angels, as directly spoken to SIAM, while in the House of Darrou Quddous (House of Holiness) in the Holy City of Touba, Senegal, West Africa]

All perception is a reflection of our inner state.
If the state is changed, the perception is changed. Attitude determines altitude. Notions from the emotions are deceptive and often misleading in discerning what is most significant and real.

Recite 3 times. Go into silent meditation with eyes closed. Await the opening.

  THE DIVINE SECRET

"...so that there remain not for yourself and your desire and your purpose and your longing of this world and of the hereafter anything with its head raised and neither any word that is listened to, not any opinion which is followed, excepting obedience to the commandment of the Lord and standing by Him and cheerful acceptance of His decree, rather complete merging in His decree and allotment. Thus you become the servant of the Lord and not a servant of the people and their opinion."

~ Shaikh Abd Al-Qadr Jilani

This is the secret: NOthing matters but serving & loving God (swt) so that He loves & serves you. The secret is acceptance of DIVINE POWER. When we are in harmony with it, everything IS as it should BE without anxiety, stress, worry, concern, strain, etc. right when and where it's supposed to BE. Thus we merge into our SOURCE, our ORIGIN. The merging that takes place is so smooth and seamless that one can't distinguish ONE from the other. The secret is the fulfillment of DIVINE DESTINY - the BEcoming of what we were created to BE all along. It's not just Jesus (as) and the other Prophets, but all of us who call ourselves HUman BEings, who by birthright are bestowed with the ability and capability of BEing like unto GOD. However some where along the spiritual path, we fell asleep and fell into a dream state that often times is a nightmare; but when we are beloved of GOD, we are given help, both seen & unseen to awaken us. As we struggle through life/death lessons ['cause this life is a series of practice runs on how to die] toward consciousness, and finally BEcome aware [God-willing before death arrives], we do certainly translate from servants and slaves of God to friends of God. When awakened, we realize that we are of a SELECT few who've been unplugged from the collective dream called the MATRIX. Once we've been awakened, we can pretend we haven't, but at what price? To try to remain asleep when the alarm has already been sounded, only leads to pain, depression, despair, irritability, etc. Is BEing awaken BEfore most other HUmans a comfortable place? Perhaps not unless we come to an impenetrable understanding of THE DIVINE."

An Introduction To Rabita Sharifa and Muraqabah
by Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Qubrusi al-Haqqani

Know that through the Rabita Sharifa, and the making of Muraqabah, one is separated from the dark characteristics of the Nafs and its bad manners, and is taken into the state of Real Existence.

"Verily she (Zulaika) desired him (Yusuf), and he would have desired her if it had not been that he saw the evidence (burhan) of his Lord. Thus it was, that We might ward off from him evil and lewdness. Lo! He was of Our chosen slaves (12:24)”

"The evidence (burhan) of his Lord" mentioned here in the verse about Yusuf (alaihi salam), who was in Egypt, is the vision of Ya’qub (alaihi salam) who was in Jordan, as a direct result of the honorable Rabitah Sherifa, which even the Prophets practiced.

Muraqabah is the first step in grasping the reality of Salah, prayers, which are an Ascension for the believers.  There are three stages to this Muraqabah, and this Muraqabah is made on three levels.  The first level is to make Muraqabah with ones Shaykh, the second level is with the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and the final level being making Muraqabah to Allah.  The first three stages are within these levels are:

1. Love
2. Presence
3. Extinction

The highest state of the third stage in the third level, ends in the state of Ihsan, but is merely a taste of the Haqiqat Muhammadiyya, the Muhammadan Reality.  None other than the Apostle of Allah are privileged to stay in that state of perfect connection in the station of non-existence (la makan).  You should also know, in creation, the only creation to enter it, and stay in it constantly, was and is ‘AbduHu wa Rasuluh’ (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)!  All of the others who entered it, beginning with our father Adam [alaihi salam], were cast down after it because they were unable to achieve complete submission (Islam) in that state, and as such, in ecstasy, some who came after even uttered sentences like “I am the Truth” and were removed.  It was for them an ascension, and not more than that.  Those of constancy in that state, like the Prophets and accomplished ones, only obtained it through the third stage of the second level, and that is the eternal meaning of “If you love Allah, follow me”, because the Light of Muhammad existed before all creation, and the Prophets believed in it as well.  The Apostle of Allah was always in that state of Submission (Islam), to the extent that the entire Qur’an was revealed to him, but it did not burden him, whereas, if it were revealed onto a mountain, it would tremble.  Due to this secret state of his, even his words other than the Qur’an constituted revelation as well.  The true Companions saw him in that state, completely absorbed in the third level from within, and it was revealed in the Holy Qur’an, “Whosoever follows the Messenger, has followed Allah”, and “those who pledged their allegiance to the Prophet, actually pledged their allegiance to Allah”.  They understood what that meant, and hence were over awed in his company with respect and reverence, due to his Reality.

Hence, as our way is the way of the Sahabah, we focus our initial concentration on the company of the Guide and its reality.  This is why our Pir, Khwaja Baha’uddin Shah Naqshband was reported by our Master Khwaja Muhammad Nazim to have said, “Our Way is founded on association, and goodness comes from congregation”.  In reality, every time you enter the presence of the Shaykh, you are entering the presence of another reality.  It is from the Anwaar of that association one’s beliefs, and actions are corrected, and one is reformed.  The Apostle of Allah is reported to have said, “the best of Allah’s slaves are those upon seeing of whom, you are reminded of Allah” and the Holy Qur’an orders believers, “be with truthful ones”.  In their association, with their connection, we are to lose our very existence by the reflection of their majesty and lights onto our hearts and soul.  You must strive to keep this connection while with them, and when away from them.  To keep with it when away from them, is to establish the honorable connection, known as the Rabita Sharifa and the Rabita is established through the Muraqabah.

BRIEF ARTISTIC BIO

SIAM is an unique, multi-talented, innovative artistic educator. He is a graduate of the Harvard Divinity School and an African-American mystic poet of great magnitude who is known for his work in ministry, motivational speaking, his poetry, and his acting. SIAM is the author of two published books of poetry "A Word For Black Emotion" and most recently, "Rain Of Grace, New and Selected Poems". SIAM has read and performed his art, taking his vibrant energy and spiritual light to institutions and stages across this nation and abroad. SIAM became the second Afro-American to ever receive a five thousand dollar fellowship from the Indiana Arts Commission in theatre and his one man performance of the historical abolitionist Frederick Douglass, written, produced, directed, and performed by SIAM, and is well known throughout the IPS and other school systems among students, teachers, and school administrators alike. He also, through his performance of Mr. Douglass, brought the first Black History program ever to Warren Central High School with a standing ovation from the entire faculty and student body. SIAM presents information in a dramatic way; and connects with youth, both young and old in a manner that no other individual can and has the ability to not only get, but maintain their attention through his presentation. He speaks and delivers a penetrating and elevating life-force to our youth's dead dreams! He awakens an enlightened hope in our youth that are hopeless! He speaks the rain away so that our youth can see clearer!

He has recently been asked what SIAM means? The poet responds by saying:

SIAM is like unto IAM - the continuous eternal verb to be; it is the ever new me of BEing and BEcoming, endlessly evolving into new and more beautiful construction and art forms. SIAM is not only that new creative name for my talent and the place it comes from. SIAM also stands for my spiritual and human station in life (my mission)...

SIAM is, Shaikh Ibrahim Al-Jahizz M'Backe

PRESIDENT
BARACK OBAMA

A Prose Poem by SIAM

He has not been raised up by God to carry all of your heavy weights and burdens. He is not here to solve all of your manifold problems. He is not here to help you get more food stamps, or show you how to legalize marijuana. He is not here to pay your gas and water bills. He is not here to help your football team win the next Super Bowl game or pick and choose for you who will play for the new and improved NBA. He is not here to rid the world of ALL black-on-black crime, or to stop ALL drug trafficking in the nation. He is not here to do everything for you. He is not here to pick green boogers from your nose, or to stop all racism in this country. He is not here to clean your filthy toilets or take out all your dirty trash. He is not here to supply you with more rib tips, pigs’ feet, hog maws, chitterlings, black-eyed peas, collard greens, fried pork chops, watermelon, or to cook your barbecue chicken wings. He is not here to Step ‘n’ Fetchit, Amos and Andy, or Sanford and Son his way into your homes. Neither will he be appearing on the BET Last Comic Stand. He is not here to placate or pacify you. He is here to teach, to inspire, and to motivate you into MOTIVATING YOU. He is not here to change you; he is here to help you find more of YOU. He is not here to do everything for you. He is here to help you CHANGE YOUR THINKING. He is here to supplicate YOU to make happen what is within your very own hands, the power to make happen. He is here as a divine symbol of what a Human Being who does not fear to dream his dream can make happen. He is here to set an example that not all black fathers are no-good non-providers who abandon their families and do not face their responsibilities as men. He is here to show all black men how to be wise, tender, and loving to their wives. He is here not as the Powerful God, but as a man who is DIVINELY GOD-EMPOWERED. He is not here to do everything for you. He is here to help you find more of YOU. He is here to help you find more DREAMING. He is here to help you find more WILLING. He is here to help you CHANGE YOUR THINKING, from I can’t, into, I-WILL, I-MUST, I-CAN. He is here to show us by example how to FOLD SPACE and bring INTO MANIFESTATION whatever we dream and will ourselves to bring INTO MANIFESTATION. He is here to show you the way, but YOU MUST FOLLOW THE WAY HE SHOWS. God has raised up into our midst a great Nubian prince, with a family of faces, noses, and lips like the ones our ancestors’ had who were not allowed to cast their vote concerning the workings of this nation.

God has sent us -

Self-Introspection - A Meditation from SIAM

Self-introspection is not so comfortable - viewing our many contradictions and encountering our many subjective selves can be a bit disconcerting to say the least, yet very necessary. This important inquiry is not meant to stifle and cripple us; instead, it is meant to free and liberate us. Without such self-introspection, we cannot advance upon the path. The judgments we make must be made from the standpoint of objective witness and not subjective victim - the observer who stands outside, yet within, the perimeters of the viewing scene of self. No movie on television can compare to the sit-com of our individual lives; for there is no greater content or drama. The only certainty of our existence is that there is NO certainty; therefore, we must learn to live in a state which supersedes the changeableness of things. If we do not discover this reality, we remain forever trapped and bound by the impermanence of life. Ancient, Mystic knowledge teaches us that we are both, the cause and the effect behind the totality of our life experience; and it teaches us to live in a state of utter detachment. For this is the only place or state that frees us from the effects of impermanence and places us into simply, the suchness of things. This is the Supreme State. To be a participant, yet stand outside the participatory process-action as a separated witness is the only way to taste the sweet inside the emptiness of suchness. He, who can do this, is no longer a victim of existence, but BEcomes a Master over existence and a Witness to Power. No one, who is not committed to a continuous meditative practice of self-inquiry or self-introspection, can experience this.

FRIENDSHIP

Excerpted from "The Prophet"

by Kahlil Gibran

And a youth said, "Speak to us of Friendship."

Your friend is your needs answered.

He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.

And he is your board and your fireside.

For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.

When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay."

And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart;

For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed.

When you part from your friend, you grieve not;

For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.

And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.

For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.

And let your best be for your friend.

If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know its flood also.

For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill?

Seek him always with hours to live.

For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness.

And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.

For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.

The Mirrored Self

Let us imagine a quiet, cozy cove where all the senses except one seem to have dispersed. There is nothing to smell, nothing to taste, nothing to hear, and nothingto feel but the reaction to what can be seen.  Nearby is a pool, so still that it resembles a limpid mirror.  If we look in it, what we see is the reflection of ourselves, just as we thought we looked, wearing the identical clothes. the same countenance...

Ah, this is us, the us we know, and as we savor the wonderful selves-of-perfection we suddenly realize that just below our mirror, there is another reflection that is not quite so clear, and not quite what we expected.  This translucent surface has a tendency toward the vague: the lines are not firm and the colors not quite the same, but it is us, or should we say me, or rather one of our other selves? We examine this uncertain portrait and just as we feel inclined to accept it we realize that, down below this, there is still another mirror reflecting another of our selves, and more.  For this third mirror is transparent, and we can plainly see what is going on before and behind it, and we refuse to credit thathereis still another of our selves.  But there we are with four reflections, all reflections of us who look at them.  We accept the first three, even with the vague and misty overtones, but the fourth, on the other side of the transparent mirror, leaves uf bafled and on the verge of defeat.  It is hard to believe that we would do this to me, but we saw it with our own eyes.  Which is the one we love most? We know that I am one of our favorite favorite pople, but which one? It does not have anything to do with what we are doing to anybody else, but what we are doing to me, the thinker-writer, the okayer, the nixer, the player, the listener, the critic, the corrector.  What are they all saying? We can't hear them.  We can only see them. A ripple in the pool and they all disappear.

Now we can hear, feel, smell, and taste.
