SMOOTH JAZZ MAGAZINE The first word in Smooth Jazz... Bi-montly issues will contain featured articles on our favorite smooth jazz artists as well as those just emerging. Readers will have complete access to comprehensive calendars containg jazz events as well as CD releases, radio station directories and much more. From Boney James to Yolanda Adams...learn about their passion for jazz, what brings them inspiration and the creative processes they go through to bring us the music we all love. Our magazine welcomes the readers of Black Planet. We hope that this page will continue to promote and encourage the appreciation for Smooth Jazz. In addition, SMOOTH JAZZ MAGAZINE, hopes that this page will serve as both a meeting place and a forum for jazz lovers of all ages to come together, unwind and share their passion for jazz. Veteran contemporary jazz group Fourplay plans to head back into the studio in January to deliver a new CD by June 2008. Fourplay's previous CD entitled, X, which was released in 2005, climbed to the #1 spot on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart almost immediately. The set included the single, My Love's Leaving, featuring Michael McDonald. Grammy winner Norah Jones' first foray into film acting is finally coming to theatres in the U.S. The romantic comedy My Blueberry Nights, will be shown in limited release starting February 13, 2008. The indie film also stars Jude Law, Tim Roth, Rachel Weisz, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris and Natalie Portman. Jones plays a woman who takes a road trip across America searching for true love. The late singer Gerald Levert is featured on the new holiday CD by keyboardist Jim Brickman, titled Homecoming. Levert, who passed away a year ago, attended Shaker Heights High School with Brickman. Brickman eplained, "The song, My Angel, was originally written as a lullaby." He states that he is glad that he and Levert didn't put off the recording of the Christmas version.
