I've been sewing since the age of 12. My mother taught me to sew and crochet. I begin sewing more because I the clothing handed down from my older sisters. Sewing caused me to let my imagine grow and expand in creating my own styles.

Houndstooth is my favorite weave for jacket, blazers and suits. I love the Ann Taylor style. I have a Betsey Johnson style just waiting to break out; just no where to flount it.

I've done fashion show for charity, join with other local designers in fashion shows at upscale clubs. He comes my age. The last show done at a club my son was old enough to go with me. LOL! I'm not the club type so it was over for me after I network with the remaining sober guests. I will try to get the past designs scanned and uploaded in the future.

I completed my intership at a mail order "mature women" clothing company. The owner was the most awesome woman in the world. I will never forget Alice Martin. She taught me so much about production from the beginning to the end. You can only learn and imagine so much in the classroom. It will blow you away when you work in a design room. Don't turn down any interships mature clothing, hip hop, etc. The production pretty much runs the same. From computer designing, stitching samples lines, fit models, etc. The excitement and rush you feel is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

What's the rule on matching shoes with your attire?

Posted

Here you will find conflicting opinions even by fashion designers. You must remember, what's goes on the runway does not always go in real life. shocking colors shoes on a runway are just that "shocking".

When you see hot pink shoes wth a bright yellow on the runway, it catches your eyes. But this is where that belongs, on a runway catching your eyes. It doesn't belong in an office setting.

I'm all for style and standing out in a crowd but... (continue reading)
