Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer for the Miss Black Wisconsin USA Scholarship Pageant, Cheryl Shelby has pursued a successful career in entertainment and in corporate America. She was honored to be selected as Miss Black Wisconsin USA in 1994 and went on to become Miss Black USA first runner-up in 1995. As a former student at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she majored in Public Relations and Advertising with a double minor in Sociology and Family Studies. Ms. Shelby's versatility was a catalyst allowing her to secure positions within the professional sports arena, politics, public relations, social services, and all areas of entertainment. She has had an extensive voice over career and has performed as an accomplished singer, an on/off camera personality and film work. Ms. Shelby's goal is to provide scholarship opportunities to African American college-bound women and young people to further their education and arts enrichment. As the President of Anevay Innovations, Ms. Shelby produces scholarship pageants, talent competitions, arts camps and offers various seminars to the arts and entertainment community. Currently, Ms. Shelby is planning a partnership with The Gambia, West Africa to provide funding for libraries, books and resources where they are needed most. Ms. Shelby is the proud mother of Cheyenne, her lovely 10-year-old daughter. Cheryl has been an avid parent volunteer and uses her positive experiences to teach her daughter and other young people about cultural pride, tenacity, compassion and of course, creativity.
