WHAT ABOUT THE BABIES

I am becoming increasingly concerned about our teenage babies wanting to be baby momma's. How did we get here? Is it because they lack love and want something to love thats all their own? Or is it to keep that young man? Men -- what do you tell your daughters to give them the respect for self that they need not to become part of this growing statistic? Women -- what do we tell/show our sons to instill in them the respect for these young woman to make them want to inspire them to be more for his sake and hers. Just looking for feedback. I think this one takes a village.

HOPELESS
When new upon this journey
I just double-dutched in hopelessly blind
Lived for that kiss, that hug, that caress
Then with love's first heartache
I was hopelessly intent
Intent to never hurt again
Intent to grab great love and win
Only to discover that pain and love are evil twins
I loved, I hurt, I regained my strength
Yet still with hope I searched for my forever true
Still with hope my heart watched others as proof
Watched as husbands protective strength
gave sweet softness to their wives
And that softness rest upon the souls of their lives
In turn those wives breathe back the substance for mans survival
Now in the eve of my search
When I give up is my verse
When all my love is concentrated on children and family
For that is the place where it finds security
Me a bitter black women
I pray that will never be
Though this heart has been put to many many tests
I'm not at all bitter
I just......
hope
less.
