WELCOME TO SMOQ LAND
SmoQ Digga Dogg is my alter ego, a super ego of sorts. He is the creation of my environment which surrounds me with self righteous people who are no where near the righteousness they project. The Digga Dogg is here to keep it real simple and plain. I yearn for the days of old school hip hop where we told great stories in our lyrics, where we voiced our opinions about many many issues, not just how much money we have or other subject matters that take little or no thought. This life is not a party and every day there is a problem or two to solve. SmoQ Dogg takes the time out to present to you a difference in rhythim. he speakes poetically about the ladies and oh yea The Digga Dogg loves the ladies.. He speaks harshly about the politics in the country, we need a do over the whole dam thing!! And of course he loves to party, it is all a party of the dichotomy of me being a QUE (Omega Psi Phi) til the day I die! So peep my alter ego and welcome to SmoQ Land it is a place of fun, loving, making money, getting your grove on , or just stop by when you need that boost of confidence to Get Your Groove Back .

I grew up on Chi Town house music and that slammin reggae music from the islandsI love to recreate those sounds and those feelings from my youth. I hope you enjoy my experimentation.

SmoQ Digga loves to deliver the real when it comes to money matters, the body of politics, and of course The Ladies, but more recently he has delved into more poetic verses laid over beats acapella or in new stories that delve into the things people are afraid to speak about, hear about and even listen to. Here comes the real......................

80% of the people don't care about your problems, and the other 20% are glad that your problems are greater than theirs.
So get up off your but and do something!!!!!

Here is the first stanza of a poem I wrote while watching the Tragedy In Louisiana, MS, and the rest of the Gulf Coast of America.
I still don't believe what I saw then and what is NOT Happening now to bring the city back.
Must I say, "Only in America!!!"
Never Forget my People, Never!!

True Tragedy

M. Taylor 9/2/05

Part 1

The State of New Orleans shows the sad state fo our nation.

It ain't no Mardi Gras celebration.

It's just families wading, in chest deep weater

Dodging aligators and snakes

Given no information, and tired of waiting for the help

that is yet to come.

But three days later with no food and no shelter,

Man I tell ya, you gotta help yourself, protect yourself

You see, no one has come to help.

US.

So I stand in the store pulling cans off the shelf,

Needing everything, cause I have nothing else left.

It all was washed away.

I prayed and prayed for three whole days

And the days only got hotter and hotter

There is water water everywhere but I can't drink,

No, Not that water.

It's full of the Bayou and sewage and the dead bodies decay,

In the middle of the streets all the long day.

I've never smelled a smell that smelled like this before.

What am I to do?

Who will be our voice in Hip/Hop

Posted October 17th, 2007 at 08:09pm

Who will be the new voice of our music, what will the messages contain, more of the disdain for women, talking bout hoochies and strippers, I guess those are good professions for making a living but when I grew up these were minimal topics not expressed in every other song and not so prominently broadcast by mass media.

Now this mess is all I hear. I am not knocking anyone in particular but dam...............There used to be true messages in our music. Who will take up this... (continue reading)
