Proverbs 17:17

Experience has taught me that there are three kinds of women in my life.

First, the critical women. Basically they're users, because they reach for your strength but run from your weakness. When you're in trouble they hold you at arm's length, lest they become tainted by association. Sadly, you'll find them in the church as well as the world.

Second, there's the cautious women. They won't criticize you, but when you're in trouble, they'll wait to see if you make it through the tunnel, and even when you come out, they'll wait further to see how others treat you. If it's safe, they'll reach for you again. They're fair weather women.

Third, is the committed one-a women who loves at all times. Though she hears the worst, she still believes the best. Others may leave, she stays! When the critics tear you down, and the cautious folks stand silently by, she'll speak up for you.
