Diabetics and asthmatics will find the tips helpful. Like macaroni and cheese, one of my favorite dishes. The next time you make it, try spelt elbow macaroni, almond cheeses, cayenne pepper and sea salt. Try almond milk. Spelt is a natural ancient grain that doesn't have the starch content that others do. And batters and gravies? Try spelt flour, almond flour or chickpea flour instead of bleached or unbleached white flour. If you're allergic to peanuts, almonds and almond butter are fantastic substitutes. No starch there but plenty of vitamin E and calcium. Crunchy almond butter topped with 100% maple syrup tastes just like pancakes. No kidding! Stay Healthy!
