SpitFire! Magazine is a monthly e-journal intended to allow creative people a venue to showcase their talents. This publication is founded and rooted in the tradition of those that have pursued the artist's life with discipline, gratitude, and passion and have subsequently changed the way we consume and conceptualize art. We are inspired by those artists who have believed in art for art's sake.

SpitFire! Magazine is an authentic, soulful space that promotes honest dialogue and artistic freedoms. The magazine encourages views that are left of center and non-traditional in scope. We identify foremost with the many voices of the African Diaspora but also appreciate the rich traditions and complexities of varied and multi-faceted experiences within human existence.

The tone of SpitFire! Magazine is probably one of being very forthright and honest - speaking truth to power. Not in a way that is just outlandish, but a tone that creates conversation that may not normally happen. A tone, through the writings and artistry, that challenges conventional thinking.

We hope after viewing SpitFire! Magazine, you will feel inspired to submit a piece of artwork to share. We encourage and welcome submissions from all, especially those with viewpoints left of center and non-traditional in nature.

Acceptable submissions include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Short Stories
2. Photo essays
3. Drawings
4. Poetry
5. Book/Film reviews
6. Travel writings
7. Essays/Social Commentary

When sending us your work, please be sure to:

1. Keep entries under 5 double-spaced pages
2. Include a 3-4 line biography about yourself and a picture if you wish
3. An explanation of your piece and your point of view
