I felt alot of animosity(I say that with a lack in care) when it comes to some things I've said, and I don't remember back in 87 when I first belted a note ever thinking about being a seeker of this world or what seeking approval was.So with that being said, in my 27 years of being a fan of music did I ever think that my good or bad experiences in life would lead me to be needy of applause or approval to the point where it would allow me to be idle with my ability, and or knowledge and shortchange myself or my first love(which Is not the love of the world nor human acceptance) I am not conventional at all when it comes to what I sing about. And I still cannot fathom having to sing about being in love all the time or hating a dude or just the regular mundane relationship fueled ballad. It definitely has its place but I just cannot write or sing about those things repeatedly. When you appreciate grade A music from young, to grow up and do anything otherwise for the sake of inclusion or even change for acceptance is an egregious act against whatever talent you have, and anyone you as an artist deem an influence. An artist can only breed subpar followers if you box them in all the while hoping and looking for more than that very box for yourself. Hedonisism and narcissicm go hand in hand in the 21st century to the music culture and I just cannot say righteously that it equals the outcome this generation hopes for. Do better for those that were like myself in the eighties and speak loud and proud for you only get one chance. Through knowing their actions the guilty get offended, but the actions of the innocent allow them to get stronger..Nobody is perfect ESPECIALLY not I but Im held responsible for anything I influence and that means more to me than anything in this world. Through my trials and errors in parenthood it shows when they are taught better they do better. And to deny them that is like denying them the choice we all had. No more excuses!p>
