As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

Insha Allah all is well with all of you.   I've joined the site to read the posts (and comment on a few too!) and to see what's on people's minds.   I've read a few posts and I am glad to see that some people are trying to be kind in their comments when delivering advice to those who may not have a correct understanding.   Insha Allah those spreading the correct knowledge will be rewarded for taking the time to educate.

I'm here mainly to network, not here looking for a husband! Invitations are always welcomed to discuss Islamic topics. I notice that many people get on the defensive here and are readily able to throw a retort without taking the message when followed by evidence and not opinions.

Insha Allah we can all be open to dialogue and accept the 'true' word (how can we argue with what Allah has commanded) and take accountability for our own actions without making excuses for our inaction ... We all have different jihads - mine are my own not to be aired in public ... do I need anymore witnesses ... no.

Yes, I am a 'work in progress' .. nobody's perfect! We do as much as we can in the religion and insha Allah, we make dua to be even better. Who knows, maybe we'll learn a thing or two!

Our opinions are opinions but the haqq is the HAQQ!

Loving in Allah's cause initiates hating in His cause. Love your Muslim brother/sister for their obedience to Allah and detest them for their dis-
obedience. However, unintentional mistakes should be overlooked, but
not if he/she insists on sinning.

I Am Worth A Lot

In a brief conversation, a man asked a woman he was pursuing, "What kind of man are you looking for?"

She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye and asked, "Do you really want to know?"

Reluctantly, he said, "Yes." She began to expound...

"As a woman in this day and age, I am in a position to ask a man what he can do for me that I can't do for myself. I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any man...or woman for that matter. I am in the position to ask, "What can you bring to the table?"

The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money.

She quickly corrected his thought and stated, "I am not referring to money. I need something more."

"I need a man who is striving for perfection in every aspect of life."

He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, and asked her to explain.

She said, "I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection mentally because I need conversation and mental stimulation. I don't need a simple-minded man."

"I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection spiritually because I don't need to be unequally yoked... believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for disaster."

"I need a man who is striving for perfection financially because I don't need a financial burden. I am looking for someone who is sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but strong enough to keep me grounded."

"I am looking for someone who I can respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him. I cannot be submissive to a man who isn't taking care of his business. I have no problem being submissive... he just has to be worthy. God made woman to be a helpmate for man. I can't help a man if he can't help himself."

When she finished her spiel, she looked at him. He sat there with a puzzled look on his face. He said, " You're asking a lot."

She replied, "I'm worth a lot."

Surah al-Baqarah Ayat 1-5 "This is a book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for those who are pious. Those who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them. Those who believe in that which was sent down to you and that which was sent down to those before you, and certainly of faith in the existence of the Hereafter. Such are on a true guidance from their Lord, and such are the successful."

Sahih Muslim Hadith #3465 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: The whole world is a provision, and the best object of benefit of the world is the pious woman.

It is narrated by Abu Hurayrah that Rasulullah s.a.w.s. said: One of the best forms of charity is that a Muslim acquires knowledge and imparts it to another Muslim. (Ibn Majah)

Sahih Muslim Hadith #6266 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah: Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said: The servant (whose fault) Allah conceals in this world, Allah would also conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection.
