Hmmmmm, 2010...I can't remember the last time I updated this page. I remember back in the day when BP first started. Before Facebook, before Twitter, before Myspace, etc. One of the first places "we" could gather in cyberspace, get a free web page, hit a chat room and discuss politics, music, etc. Long before dating, urban daily, etc. Many things have changed...some things for better, some just changed. But, it's here and it can be used for positivity or negativity. Like most things in this world, it's used by different people for different things. Variety is the spice of life and BlackPlanet is no exception!!!
I am keeping quotes by two of the GREATEST Africans born in America. I love these quotes because it helps remind me to seek common ideas and like minded people, even if I don't agree with them 100%. Martin Luther King, Jr. didn't just have a DREAM. The truth is, he had a PLAN.
"The belief that God will do everything for man is as untenable as the belief that man can do everything for himself. It too, is based on a lack of faith. We must learn that to expect God to do everything while we do nothing is not faith, but superstition."
Are Martin`s and Malcolm`s ideas as different as many would have us believe??
"All of our people have the same goals. The same objective. The objective is FREEDOM, JUSTICE, EQUALITY. All of us want recognition and respect as human beings. We don`t want to be integrationists. Nor do we want to be separationists. We want to be human beings. Integration is only a method that is used by some groups to obtain freedom, justice, equality, and respect as human beings. Separation is only a method that is used by other groups to obtain freedom, justice, equality, or human dignity.
So our people have made the mistake of confusing the methods with the objectives. As long as we agree on objectives, we should never fall out with each other just because we believe in different methods or tactics or strategy to reach a common objective.
WE HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND AT ALL TIMES THAT WE ARE NOT FIGHTING FOR INTEGRATION, NOR ARE WE FIGHTING FOR SEPARATION. WE ARE FIGHTING FOR RECOGNITION AS HUMAN BEINGS. WE ARE FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHT TO LIVE AS FREE HUMANS IN THIS SOCIETY. IN FACT, WE ARE FIGHTING FOR RIGHTS THAT ARE EVEN GREATER THAN CIVIL RIGHTS AND THAT IS HUMAN RIGHTS."

A lot of people ask me what my screen name, read son of Ausar, means. Heru, who is the son of Ausar and Aset, represents renewed strength and vigor, the restoration of what is right and just. The hope for a brighter future. This is why I chose SunofAusar.
