Some pray on their knees at their bed-side,

but I pray in motion

eyes wide open on the heated black tar

I go to God in prayer

Not for me,

but for everything else

and everyone else in the world

The only thing I ask for in my prayer

is for me to be able to say "Amen"

And my run is complete

A friend of mine had some struggles in life with some situations. He had said some crazy things before about why he would take his life or why he wished someone would take his life. Nothing he said was a permanent fix, it was just how he responded to certain situations. This is a poem written one day, when I wasn't sure if I was going to hear from him again.
