personal message

Ok where to start, initially i was on here to meet new people but this site can be used for such much more so here we go.

We are on this site to inform you about a revolutionary new program that we are running named, 'Sweardown'.
This is an empowerment program for disaffected black males. Sweardown is run by two brothers, it was started to help young black adults that are classed as 'problem kids'.

The program looks at how they perceive themselves and gives them alternatives to how they live their lives. What our program does is instil the youths with TRUE self confidence and awareness of themselves and others and give them coping mechanisms. We do this by covering a wide range of topics such as, being a Leader or a Follower, Masks that people wear, Taking control of your life, Negative Beliefs and Fears, there are many other subjects that we cover these are just a few.

You may be asking yourself that, 'Yeah this sounds good but what can i do?' Or, 'What do they expect from me?' We have been pushing this program for 4 years, it was piloted in 2007 with the help of the Cadbury's Trust. Since then we have shown the organisations that we have a program that actually works, we have letters from Parents, Police and Neighbourhood Managers backing us plus evaluation sheets from Schools, Parents, Care staff, stating the changes they've seen in the youths that completed the program. But, for whatever reason the big organisations that are supposedly set up to work with these kids are trying their best to ignore us.

What we are looking for is some help with Media coverage, Sponsorship and getting this to the public, and this is where you come in. If you know someone who can assist in what we are trying to achieve let them know as we need to get as much exposure for Sweardown so these same organisations won't be able to just sweep us under the carpet. If you wanted to get more involved that would be a bonus giving whatever help you can.
The way how we see this is, why are we leaving these organisations to try and change OUR kids, it's like Lions leaving their cubs to be brought up by Sheep, it just is NOT going to work.

We all have our own experiences, and a lot of us has at one point or another has gone through a lot of what these kids are witnessing but we managed to escape it, unfortunately, not everyone is this gifted or lucky.
At the moment we have approached Churches, Celebrities and other outfits like ours, stating that this is a problem that we ALL need to be aware of no matter our background because its only when we come together and start working as a unit that we can start to make the changes necessary, as the saying goes, 'No man is an island'.
If you wanna know more about us then visit www.sweardown.com Lets see if we can make a difference, BLESSED x
