Recommend this profile to your Facebook friends. personal messageI MISS THE OLD BLACKPLANET When I first joined BP there were barely a million members; and probably not that many since a whole lot of people had multiple pages. But it was very easy to communicate with others via a note or guestbook post. I was a guestbook posting junky. I logged onto BP early mornings and pretty much stayed all day. I would do a search of new members or just members by age range and go visit every one of them AND leave every one of them a guestbook post. When I first joined BP my wife (we were not married then) taught me how to do HTML. And then there were 3 or 4 people on BP who had HTML guides on their page or a special page with all sorts of HTML information. I learned how to upload animated graphics from various web sites and incorporate them in my HTML posts. I had posts for birthdays and all of the holidays all year from New Years, to Easter, to the 4th of July, to Thanksgiving and Christmas. And on all of those holidays I would post all of my friends guestbooks and a whole lot of other people's also. I loved greeting new members and welcoming them to BP. And with the way BP was growing I always had plenty of new people to meet. But now days all of the controls on postings are a real pain in the butt and in my opinion do not stop the spammers and houchie mamas who continue to find ways to post their smut. What does not make sense to me is having to interpret and type in a script to send a note or message to someone on your friends' list. It just makes communicating so much more difficult that I just about stopped guestbook postings all together. I wish we could go back to the old system as far as postings are concerned. recent blog posts
